Chapter 455 Pure Friendship
Natalie instinctively reached out to hold the medicine bottle for him, almost dislodging the needle in her right hand, causing blood to seep out.
His face was pale, lips tightly pressed together, but his eyes lit up for a moment when he saw her.
"Natalie, come on in."
He took a few steps back and lay down on the bed again.
She stood at the doorway, watching Gabriel struggle to hang the medicine bottle back in place.
With a sigh, she walked over to help.
Then she looked down at him.
"Mr. Kensington, are you feeling any better?"
Gabriel's eyes flickered slightly, and he managed a faint smile.
"Much better. Did you catch a cold?"
Gabriel looked up, his face still pale, his voice a bit hoarse.
In that moment when Natalie met his gaze, his eyes were filled with a faint sadness.
It was hard not to feel sympathy.
"No."
Natalie's heart trembled slightly, but she walked over to the chair opposite him and sat down as if nothing had happened.
Jagger came in carrying a bowl of porridge, looking at the weakened Gabriel with deep concern.
"Mr. Kensington, you gotta stay strong. Ms. Clark was moved to tears when she found out what you did for her. She wanted to thank you personally. She was impressed by your generosity and kindness. It's hard for such an outstanding man not to catch her attention!"
Natalie frowned and looked at Jagger, helpless.
The heavy atmosphere from earlier was instantly dispelled.
Jagger blinked, signaling her to play along and take care of the patient.
Natalie pursed her lips, her gaze indifferent.
"No, I heard about it. You had the trending topic removed. Thanks."
"You're welcome."
Gabriel smiled faintly.
Jagger handed the porridge to Natalie and quickly found an excuse to leave.
Gabriel looked at the bowl of porridge, extending his hand with the needle, which was still trembling.
Natalie frowned slightly. He appeared calm and composed, but his eyes held a hint of expectation.
She looked at Gabriel, the usually cold and indifferent Gabriel, now surrounded by an aura of fragility and helplessness.
Her heart softened. After all, he was injured because of her.
She couldn't be too harsh.
She picked up the bowl of porridge and handed it to him. There was a spoon inside, so he could eat it himself.
This was the extent of her patience.
Gabriel looked at her calmly, raising his other hand, the needle marks visible.
His other hand was also trembling.
"This hand has no strength left."
He had suffered quite a bit that day.
Natalie was silent for a few seconds, then calmly took back the bowl.
Just as Gabriel thought she was going to switch hands and feed him, she suddenly called out, "Elijah,"
The air was silent for a few seconds, as if frozen.
Gabriel's face stiffened slightly.
His chest tightened, suddenly realizing what she intended to do.
He would rather starve.
But the next second, Elijah appeared in front of them.
"Ms. Clark, what do you need?"
He looked as fierce and cold as ever.
A bodyguard without any emotions.
Natalie handed him the glass of milk. "Come over and feed Mr. Kensington for me."
She said it naturally.
Elijah's brows furrowed deeply, clearly reluctant about the task, but he couldn't disobey Natalie's orders.
"Yes!"
He replied firmly, with the resolve of someone going to their doom.
But before he could sit in the chair Natalie had just vacated, Gabriel, his face dark, grabbed the porridge and downed it in one go, without hesitation.
His narrow eyes were cold, seemingly a bit angry.
"Get out!"
He was speaking to Elijah.
