Chapter 481 Watching the Show

Gabriel's demeanor was icy and unyielding, leaving no room for negotiation.

This was nothing like what she had imagined.

Briar was completely overwhelmed, her face a picture of panic, with tears glistening pitifully in her eyes.

Red veins began to spread across her eyes as she looked at him, trembling, on the verge of tears.

"Mr. Kensington, why? Everyone says we're perfect for each other."

She was Francis's youngest daughter, and that connection had already brought her closer to him.

So why wouldn't he even spare her a glance?

If it were about an arranged marriage, why not choose her?

Over time, she had seen it clearly—Natalie didn't care about him at all!

So why did she have no chance?

She was confused, hopeful.

But Gabriel didn't even look at her, too indifferent to explain. Why waste time on someone who didn't matter?

He pulled out his phone and called Jagger.

"Send someone up to clean the room."

His voice was so cold it could make your bones shiver.

He turned to leave but suddenly stopped.

He saw Natalie standing at the door across the hall, his emotions instantly becoming complicated, a hint of panic as if afraid she might misunderstand.

He quickly walked over, his expression dark, "Natalie, what are you doing here?"

Natalie raised an eyebrow, her eyes curving into a smile.

She made no effort to hide her amusement.

"I'm here to watch the show!"

From the start, she had sensed something was off.

When that cup of coffee was accidentally spilled on Gabriel, she noticed something strange about the assistant who handed it over.

Thinking it over.

Who could it be?

It was one of Dax's assistants, someone who had gone to help at ApexCorp with Briar. They must be close.

Otherwise, why would they create an opportunity for Briar?

So, she had come up on purpose and ended up watching the whole drama unfold without anyone noticing.

This show was way more entertaining than Yves's play downstairs.

Too bad Briar was too naive. She shouldn't have called the reporters; she should have called both sets of parents!

Gabriel stood there, his face momentarily dark and hurt.

Natalie's indifferent attitude was the most painful thing of all.

Anger or insults would have been easier to handle than her detachment.

"Enjoying the show?"

He asked nonchalantly, his voice extremely calm.

Natalie smirked, "A bit cliché, but entertaining."

Briar's tactics weren't sophisticated, but they were always amusing. After all, she dared to scheme against Gabriel.

Her gaze swept over his cold eyes. Too bad Briar missed her chance; Natalie had planned to help her.

But it was just as well. Scheming against Gabriel was one thing, but trying to scheme against her? That wouldn't go unanswered.

Gabriel, leaning on his cane, exuded a cold, imposing aura.

As he approached, she caught a whiff of his sharp mint scent.

Natalie was momentarily stunned, then quickly composed herself, her smile fading.

Gabriel looked down at her, his lips parting slightly, "If you were the leading lady, it would be even more spectacular."

That would be an unimaginable ending.

One he had long anticipated.

Natalie met his gaze without flinching, her breath catching involuntarily.

Then she chuckled softly.

"With a different leading man, I might consider it."

Gabriel's eyes grew colder, his gaze unwavering.

The thought of someone else coveting what he considered his own made him extremely uncomfortable.

He stepped forward, ignoring his own leg's inconvenience, and pushed her against the wall, holding her in place.
