Chapter 175 Celebrity
After a bit, Natalie’s calm voice came through the phone. "Got it. Can you do something for me?"
NovaTech Group wasn't very big. Its glory days were over, and now it was just scraping by. Still, it had built up some assets during its peak, making it better off than some but not as good as others.
Who would've thought the person influencing Peter to change his mind was NovaTech Group? And Gabriel was involved in this too.
That evening, Mia invited Natalie to a salon cocktail party, and she went as promised. She wasn't in a great mood and sat quietly at the bar, drinking alone.
With her slender waist and long legs, she was vibrant and dazzling, hard to ignore. Every move she made was like a painting, exuding a strong sense of artistry.
No one noticed someone secretly took a photo and posted it on Gabriel's Facebook.
Gabriel saw the call and frowned slightly. It was Leo. He answered impatiently, "What do you want?"
Leo said playfully, "I invited you to the party today, but you didn't come. Guess who I saw?"
He sounded mysterious, making Gabriel even more impatient. "Just tell me."
Leo sighed, feeling bored. "Look at the photo I sent you."
Gabriel hung up and saw the photo. In the dazzling lights, Natalie seemed to merge with the brilliant light, giving off an unreal, hazy feeling.
Her long, slender legs were elegantly crossed on the chair, one hand holding a half-filled glass of wine, her finely chiseled features exuding a deadly allure. She was elegant and charming, her demeanor intoxicating yet unaware.
Gabriel frowned slightly, grabbed his coat, and left.
Natalie was already a bit tipsy and planned to leave soon. Unexpectedly, someone called out to her from a distance. Natalie paused slightly and glanced over. She didn't recognize the person, so she ignored it.
The person, with a hint of anger, walked over and questioned her, "Natalie, are you deaf? Didn't you hear me calling you?"
Natalie looked at the woman in front of her, who was arrogant and ordinary-looking. She lightly curled her lips and sneered, "Who are you, and why should I listen to you?"
Her disregard and contempt made the woman even angrier. The girl retorted, "I'm Layla, the daughter of PrysmTech Group in Avaloria. I just debuted in your country and have sung many songs. You don't know me? I have 300k followers now!"
The entertainment industry in Lumeria was much easier to make money in than in Veridonia. She debuted through a variety show, gaining many fans and quickly becoming a goddess for many men!
She had heard about Natalie from Hannah, the daughter of NovaTech Group. She heard that Natalie’s family had some money and that she was arrogant and promiscuous. How shameless!
Her family also had business dealings with NovaTech Group, and she had known Hannah for a long time. When she wanted to debut as a star, Hannah happily brought her to Lumeria and introduced her to various directors. Hannah promised to help her get roles and resources in the entertainment industry, which was very important to Layla.
But more importantly, Hannah said she would introduce her to Yves! Yves was not only highly regarded in Lumeria's entertainment industry but also an unattainable figure in Veridonia. He was called the national male god, loved by the public in Veridonia! She came to Lumeria to develop her career and also to get closer to Yves!
But in Lumeria, Yves had been repeatedly rumored to be involved with the divorced Natalie! Since that was the case, she didn't mind helping Hannah teach Natalie a lesson!
Natalie looked at her and shook her head seriously. "I don't know you."
So Layla was from Veridonia, but there was no communication barrier. But she didn't need to know her. She hadn't even heard her songs. How arrogant!
Layla bit her lip, feeling humiliated. She suppressed her anger and snorted coldly, "Ms. Clark is more popular than any artist in Lumeria's entertainment industry. It's normal you don't know me. But there's something I hope Ms. Clark remembers."
No one had spoken to Natalie like this in a long time. A newly debuted artist from Veridonia, where did she get the confidence?
Natalie raised an eyebrow and asked, "What?"
Layla stated, "I don't care what your family does. Since you have money, you can keep whoever you want, but don't drag Yves into your private life. You don't deserve to be compared to Yves!"
So, Layla was a blind admirer of Yves? Natalie frowned and reprimanded, "What does this have to do with you? He doesn't even mind."
Yves had never objected, so why was this woman jumping out to criticize her?
Layla scoffed, "Who said he doesn't mind? Yves is sick of you. He doesn't like women like you!"
Natalie twitched her lips and chuckled, "As if you heard him say that yourself?"
She didn't believe it at all. Was Layla putting on a one-woman show?
Layla continued, "Of course, I heard it myself. He said he was forced to play along with you, pretending to be close. Natalie, if you have any dignity, you should clarify those rumors. Stop shamelessly riding on Yves' popularity!"
Layla gritted her teeth in anger. How could Yves be involved with such a woman? It was so embarrassing! No wonder Hannah spoke ill of Natalie.
Natalie's eyes turned cold, and she slightly curled her lips. "He said that? Then I need to ask him myself."
With that, she took out her phone and called Yves directly. "Natalie, what's up?"
Natalie stated, "I've been drinking and can't drive. Come pick me up and bring me a pair of flats."
She hung up before Yves could respond.
Layla sneered, "Do you think I believe you? You didn't even turn on your phone just now. Do you think Yves will come at your beck and call? You should know your place."
