Chapter 306 The Unsung Men
Natalie was already nestled in Gabriel's arms, totally unfazed.
But the warning and disdain in Gabriel's dark eyes made Rance shiver.
Without giving them a chance to react, Gabriel turned and walked off with Natalie.
Rance went pale and froze up.
Dominic sighed. Even though he was young, he'd been in the game long enough.
He could see things clearly.
Against Gabriel, almost no one stood a chance.
"Rance, go tell Mia."
Gabriel placed Natalie in the back seat of the car, frowning at the strong smell of alcohol on her.
But he still gently brushed the stray hair from her forehead and sat beside her. As he looked at the dim streetlights, he felt a pang of loneliness.
He only dared to hold her hand when she was drunk, knowing she wouldn't pull away.
Natalie's breathing was steady, and no one wanted to disturb her.
His gaze swept over Rance at the club entrance, a cold glint in his eyes. What right did he have to compete with him? He was delusional!
Less than twenty minutes later, someone knocked on the car window.
When Gabriel looked up, Natalie woke up instantly.
She looked around, confused, wondering why she was there.
When she saw Gabriel, she was momentarily stunned.
Then her brows furrowed. "What are you doing here?"
Gabriel's tone was calm. "I was passing by on my way back from a meeting."
Natalie then remembered she had been drinking here. How did she end up in Gabriel's car?
She couldn't quite recall.
Seeing her confused look, Gabriel made up a story without hesitation. "I just got out of the car, and you insisted on getting in. I couldn't stop you."
"Nonsense!" Natalie reacted strongly.
Gabriel stared at her silently. "There are cameras in the car. Want to see?"
Natalie was silent for a few seconds. Gabriel's confident demeanor made her feel guilty.
Could it be true?
Had she drunk so much she couldn't tell friend from foe?
Her resolve weakened. "No need for that. Maybe I was so drunk I wanted to throw up in your car."
Gabriel's mouth twitched, his chest heavy with anger, not knowing what to say.
Natalie added, "Even my drunk self hates you. You should stay away from me."
Before Gabriel could respond, the person outside the car knocked on the window again, impatiently.
Natalie turned, got out of the car without a word, and quickly got into Yves' car.
Yves' incredibly handsome face now showed a hint of indifference and disdain.
"Mr. Kensington, are you so free? Natalie comes out for a drink, and you haunt her like a ghost?"
Gabriel glanced at Natalie, then slowly looked away.
His voice was cold. "She was drinking with a dozen men. Aren't you worried?"
Yves sneered. "Worried about what? Natalie can drink with whoever she wants. Behind every successful woman, there are always a dozen unsung men."
Gabriel's face was dark and cold, his anger barely contained, but he had to hold it in.
After all, he was Natalie's brother.
He couldn't hit him!
Yves saw this and laughed. "Mr. Kensington, you want to drink with her too, but unfortunately, Natalie's taste has improved quite a bit!"
