Chapter 106 If It Hurts, That's Just Right
Upon hearing Finley crying so hard that she could hardly breathe, Hollis finally stopped, satisfied, allowing Finley to climb off her.
As Finley crawled down from Hollis, she immediately endured the pain and crawled to the other side of the window, hugging her backpack in front of her, curled up behind it, sobbing uncontrollably.
“If it hurts, that's just right,” Hollis sneered coldly, “If you dare tell anyone about today, I promise you won't see that woman again!”
After her threat, Hollis finally got out of the back seat and drove Finley to kindergarten.
“We're here. Wipe those tears off your face for me!” Parking the car at the kindergarten entrance, Hollis ordered coldly.
Because of Hollis's earlier threat, Finley quickly wiped the tears from her face, fearing she might never see Riley again.
After a quick assessment, Hollis thought it was good enough, then got out of the car, took Finley's hand, and warned in a low voice, “Don't look so mournful. If anyone notices, it won't end well!”
Hollis's voice fell, and then she looked up again with a warm smile on her face.
Finley clenched her small fists, trying hard to hold back her tears, obediently let Hollis led him to the teacher, and bowed slightly to the teacher.
“Finley is here!” the teacher greeted with a smile. Seeing Finley's obviously teary face, she asked with concern, “What's wrong? Why are you still crying?”
Hollis's expression changed slightly, then quickly returned to calmness. “I don't know what's wrong. She was in a bad mood this morning and refused to come to school. We coaxed her for a long time before bringing her here.”
Upon hearing this, the teacher furrowed her brows in confusion. “Really? Finley never resisted going to school before. What's going on today?”
A hint of displeasure crossed Hollis's mind. Not wanting to continue the conversation, she smiled perfunctorily, “Maybe she's not feeling well. After all, she just had a fever. Please help keep an eye on her today, and feel free to contact me if there are any issues.”
The teacher didn't think much of it and agreed with a smile.
Hollis handed Finley over to the teacher, gave a few perfunctory instructions, then turned and left.
Just as she got into the car, she saw a familiar Mercedes parked at the kindergarten gate.
A moment later, Riley got out of the car with two children.
Upon seeing the three of them, Finley's face visibly brightened.
Hollis's face suddenly darkened.
She watched as Riley chatted with the teacher for a few moments, handed the two children over, got back into the car, and drove away. Hollis's expression remained grim.
It wasn't until the Mercedes disappeared at the intersection that she slowly withdrew her gaze.
If Hollis remembered correctly, this kindergarten was invested in by the Wilder family.
With this in mind, Hollis was filled with suspicion.
When Donovan used to pick up Finley, he would inevitably run into Riley here! And as an investor, he must know that Riley's children were attending school here!
Just a moment ago, Finley seemed to really like Riley!
She couldn't help but wonder how much involvement was there between Donovan and Riley.
The more Hollis thought about it, the more uneasy she felt. Seeing the teacher still standing at the door, she got out of the car with a stern face.
“What's wrong, miss? Is there something going on?” The teacher asked with a smile as Hollis turned back.
Hollis nodded. “Hello, let me introduce myself. I'm Hollis Sutton from the Sutton Family Group, and I'd like to donate some children's entertainment facilities to the kindergarten. Could you introduce me to the principal?”
