Chapter 371 Making the Attitude Clear

After nearly half an hour, Mia finally showed up. She walked in with her usual swagger, but the moment she spotted Daniel on the couch, her confidence took a hit.

"Grandpa, you're here too," she said, sounding a bit guilty.

Daniel shot her a disapproving look and let out a cold snort.

Mia tried to play it cool, touching her nose and slowly making her way over to sit down.

"Stand!" Dalton barked angrily.

Mia froze, clearly not thrilled. With Daniel there, she reluctantly stepped back and stood facing them.

"Do you know why I called you back?" Dalton asked, his tone stern.

Mia pouted, pretending not to know. "Nope, I was just out shopping, and you called me back all mad."

Dalton's face hardened. "Did you tell Barry to stop supplying Dr. Monroe with herbs?"

Mia nodded like it was no big deal, looking all self-righteous.

Dalton and Daniel exchanged confused glances, both frowning.

Ever since Mia met Riley, she'd been acting different, always going after Riley. Now her actions were messing with the Benedict Group because of her personal grudge. Yet, Mia still thought she was in the right.

"Why did you do this?" Dalton asked, his brow furrowed.

Mia looked surprised, raising an eyebrow. "Dalton, don't you know? The Wilder Group warned all the herbal suppliers not to work with Riley. If we keep supplying Riley, aren't we going against the Wilder Group?"

Dalton's eyes widened. No wonder Riley mentioned this morning that all their suppliers had cut ties. She'd only hinted at the reason. He hadn't expected the Wilder Group to be behind it.

He remembered Donovan meeting Riley before, and there was no bad blood. Donovan even seemed protective of her. Why was the Wilder Group targeting her now?

Lost in thought, Dalton was snapped back by Mia's voice. "Mrs. Wilder probably didn't tell us directly because of our families' relationship, but since we're close with the Wilders, shouldn't we side with them? If we keep supplying Riley, we're clearly opposing the Wilders. If Mrs. Wilder gets mad, she might come after us!"

Dalton frowned. "You say this is Mrs. Wilder's idea? Why would she do this?"

Mia gave him a smug look. "You probably didn't know, but Riley is Donovan's ex-wife. Mrs. Wilder has always disliked her, and now..."

Now she had a perfect chance to deal with Riley!

Mia didn't finish, but Dalton got the message. He suddenly stood up, his face red with anger.

Mia was startled and went quiet.

"Shut up! As a Benedict, what nonsense are you spouting? If this gets out, we'll be a laughingstock! The Benedict Group has a century-old legacy; we've never needed to take sides to make our stance clear." Dalton snapped, furious, towering over Mia.
