Chapter 25 How is it You!
Riley suddenly froze.
The Sutton family?
In her understanding, there was only one Sutton family in H City involved in the medical business.
And she happened to have conflicts with that family.
Thinking of this, Riley furrowed her brows, hoping that she wouldn't be so unlucky to encounter the person she least wanted to see.
After a while, the two arrived at the agreed upon café.
The people from the herbal medicine merchant hadn't arrived yet.
Riley and Deacon sat down first, ordered two cups of coffee, and waited for the other party.
After about ten minutes, there was a knock on the door of the private room.
"They're here," Deacon perked up and said to Riley beside him.
Riley nodded, stood up, and said, "Please come in."
In no time, the door was pushed open and a male voice came through, "Sorry for being late."
Riley looked up and saw Hollis right in front of her.
Riley sighed and thought, 'Of all the people, it had to be her.'
Hollis widened her eyes in shock and her voice became sharp, "You… Riley? How is it you?"
Hadn't she disappeared a long time ago?
Why would she appear here?
Seeing Hollis's reaction, both Deacon and Beck were surprised.
Approaching the situation as a business partner, Deacon kindly asked, "Ms. Sutton, do you know Dr. Monroe?"
Hollis's expression changed again, "Dr. Monroe?"
"This is the head of our research institute, Riley Monroe. She came with me today to show our institute's sincerity in signing the contract," Deacon introduced.
However, Hollis's expression became even uglier..
She just wanted to know when Riley had come back.
Did Donovan's confession this morning, about wanting to break off their engagement after six years, have something to do with Riley?
Did he already know that Riley had returned?
And perhaps, they had already met?
The more Hollis thought about it, the more uneasy she felt, seeing Riley in front of her with various changes in her facial expressions.
Compared to Hollis, Riley's expression remained calm, as if it were their first meeting.
She casually licked her lips and straightforwardly asked, "Ms. Sutton, do you still want to continue our collaboration?"
Upon hearing her voice, Hollis abruptly collected her thoughts and stared at her for a few seconds with a slightly cold expression. "Of course, Doctor Stone has put in a lot of effort for this contract, and I won't let his hard work go to waste."
Just as she finished speaking, she called over a waiter and reordered four cups of coffee.
As they waited for the coffee, Hollis's gaze travelled with a slightly gloomy intensity over Riley's figure.
Although she didn't want to admit it, Riley had changed a lot in these six years.
Unlike before, she no longer seemed timid. Just sitting there, she exuded an aura that was clearly formidable and beautiful.
And what about her?
Six years had passed, and she hadn't changed. The person she had almost secured, she was now uncertain about.
Realizing this, Hollis clenched her hand into a fist under the table, filled with jealousy.
"I really want to collaborate with your research institute. However, I felt that the previously discussed price wasn't quite suitable. Since Dr. Monroe, the head of the institute, is here today, I hope we can discuss the price issue further," Hollis said, maintaining a professional smile while exuding a coldness in her eyes.
After listening, Deacon was about to speak, but he was stopped by Riley, who calmly asked, "What does Ms. Sutton mean?"
"I hope to increase the price by two points from the original price," Hollis replied coldly.
