Chapter 427 I Won't Lie to You

Even though Riley kept saying she was fine, Harper was still worried and gave her a thorough once-over.

Luckily, it turned out to be just a reaction from being super scared, and she'd be okay after some rest.

Riley didn't want Landon and Winston to freak out, so after chilling in her room for a bit, she got up and headed downstairs.

Sophie had just set the table and was about to go check if Riley wanted to eat when she saw Riley and Harper coming down.

"How are you feeling? Can you eat this stuff? If not, I can whip up some porridge," Sophie asked, looking at Riley with concern.

Riley's color had improved a bit after resting. She shook her head at Sophie and said, "No need. I'm not hungry."

She then took a seat at the dining table.

Landon and Winston, worried about Riley, were sitting stiffly on the couch in the living room. When they saw her come downstairs, they immediately rushed over and sat on either side of her, looking at her with big, concerned eyes.

Riley smiled and patted their heads. "Don't worry, mommy will be fine after a nap."

They obediently looked away, but their faces were still full of concern.

They knew Riley often traveled for work and never got airsick, so they had no idea what had happened.

Seeing them so downcast, Riley looked up at Harper for help, feeling a bit helpless.

Riley couldn't tell them the truth, but she also didn't have the energy to come up with another excuse right now.

Harper noticed her plea for help, glanced at the kids, and cleared her throat, "I've already checked her over. There's nothing serious. She just needs some rest. You believe me, right?"

Hearing this, they hesitated for a moment but then nodded.

Seeing how concerned Landon and Winston were, Riley felt deeply comforted and smiled, "Mommy will take you to kindergarten tomorrow."

Hearing that, they were momentarily stunned, and then looked at Riley with surprise, asking, "Really?"

Lately, Riley had been avoiding Finley and was also very busy with work. Ever since she told Finley they were moving abroad, she hadn't taken them to kindergarten.

Landon and Winston didn't mind much since they got to see Riley every day at home.

But they felt bad seeing Finley downcast every day.

Hearing that Riley would take them to kindergarten, they couldn't help but feel happy for Finley.

Moreover, if Riley could take them to kindergarten tomorrow, it meant she must be feeling better!

Seeing Landon and Winston's expectant faces, Riley smiled and nodded, "I wouldn't lie to you."

Only then did they smile and obediently start eating.

After dinner, Harper stayed for a while longer. Once Landon and Winston were settled, she helped Riley to bed before getting ready to leave.

"If you're still not feeling well tomorrow, give me a call, and I'll take them," Harper said, still worried, as she was about to leave.

Riley smiled, "Thanks for all your help with me and the kids recently."

Harper gave her a playful glare. "I'm their godmother. It's my duty to take care of them. You just focus on getting better."

Riley smiled and nodded, watching her leave.
