Chapter 132 Now It's Our Turn to Take Care of You

Upon receiving Finley's response, Riley felt a warmth spread through her heart, her eyes reddening slightly, though her face was bright with smiles.

Witnessing the tender moment between the two, Donovan's stern demeanor softened. Composing himself, he spoke in his deep voice, "Let's eat first."

As she turned to head towards the kitchen to clean up the mess by the door, Donovan intervened with a firm tone, "I called the nanny, Olivia. She will stay here for the next few days to take care of you. Sit down and eat first."

Riley paused and then turned to Donovan with gratitude. "Thank you."

Given Finley's presence, Riley did not stand on ceremony with Donovan and accepted his help without hesitation. Donovan acknowledged her thanks with a nod.

Turning to the children, Riley said, "Come on, you must be hungry too. Let's eat while the food is still hot."

The little ones, indeed famished, eagerly jumped off the sofa and lined up, making their way to the dining table.

Surrounded by the children, Riley instinctively wanted to take care of them by serving them food. As she raised her hand, she remembered her injury and had to use her left hand, resulting in slightly awkward movements.

Seeing their mommy moving slowly, Landon and Winstonchirped in their innocent voices, "Mommy, you don't need to take care of us! Now it's our turn to take care of you!"

With that, they each got up and delicately placed some of Riley's favorite dishes onto her plate.

Riley’s eyes softened at their considerate gestures, her voice brimming with emotion. "Thank you, my darlings."

Finley, observing the boys in action, followed suit and placed Riley's favorite dish onto the woman's plate as well.

Riley watched Finley’s sparkling eyes eagerly waiting for her reaction. Smiling, she took a bite and patted Finley's head gently. "Thank you, Finley; it's delicious!"

Finley beamed with pride, her eyes curving in delight, and eagerly began to serve Riley more food. For a moment, the dining room turned into a heartwarming competition, with the three little ones continuously filling Riley's plate. Riley, already quite full, continued eating slowly out of appreciation for their heartfelt efforts.

Donovan, observing the scene with a mix of amusement and unease, finally interjected, "That's enough, you three. Eat your own food."

His words had a commanding effect, and the relentless parade of dishes destined for Riley’s plate came to a halt. Riley, relief washing over her too-full stomach, looked up gratefully at Donovan.

After dinner, Olivia arrived.

Riley began to help tidy up the dining table, her injured hand not deterring her spirit. But Olivia intervened gently, "Ms. Monroe, you're still injured. Please don't overwork yourself. Go and accompany the children!"

Reluctantly, Riley agreed and moved to the living room to join the little ones.

As she entered the living room, she saw Finley and Donovan by the door. Donovan, coat on, seemed ready to leave.

Riley walked over, puzzled.

"Daddy is leaving now. You stay with your aunt and the older brothers, be good, and don't cause trouble for Riley. Olivia will be here to take care of you for the next few days," Donovan gently instructed Finley.

Finley nodded obediently. Though she didn’t want to part with her daddy, she also loved staying at Riley’s house.

Seeing Riley approaching, Donovan straightened up and met her gaze, "I have some work at the company, so I have to go. Finley has just recovered and her condition is still delicate. I prefer her to stay with you for a couple more days. Olivia will stay here to take care of her. If it's too much trouble for you, Olivia can take her back after tidying up."

Riley hesitated for a moment before reassuring him, patting Finley's head softly. "It's okay, let her stay here."
