Chapter 22 He Appeared in Dreams

After the two kids went upstairs, the smile on Riley's face gradually disappeared.

"What's wrong? Is something bothering you?" Harper turned off the TV and came over to show concern.

Riley hesitated for a moment and then told her about what happened last night. "During dinner, I ran into Donovan."

It had been six years since the incident, and Riley didn't have anyone else to confide in except Harper.

After listening, Harper was momentarily stunned and couldn't help but sigh. "What terrible fate you two have. H City is so big, and I thought that if you didn't actively seek each other out, it would be impossible to meet."

Riley lowered her eyes, unsure of what she was thinking.

"So, after seeing him, what are you thinking now?" Harper pressed on.

Riley pursed her lips. "What can I think? We broke up six years ago, and now we're just two strangers. He won't affect me anymore. From now on, I just want to take good care of Landon and Winston and live a good life with them."

Listening to her words, it seemed like she had already moved on.

Harper patted her friend on the shoulder and smiled. "That's great. You're so outstanding, and there are plenty of people pursuing you. Take your time and don't worry about that bad man!"

Riley nodded slightly, not wanting to continue the topic. Suddenly, she said, "I haven't had the chance to buy a car since returning to the country. We went out for dinner today and had to rely on my colleagues' cars. It's quite inconvenient. Do you have time tomorrow morning to accompany me to buy a car?"

Harper also shifted her attention to this and found it inexplicable. "What kind of car do you want? I have several cars in my garage. Just pick one."

Riley raised an eyebrow with a smile. "Is it really that easy?"

The two looked at each other, and Harper hugged her neck, promising, "Of course, because you're my Godson's biological mother. What's mine is yours!"

"Then I won't stand on ceremony," Riley agreed with a smile.

The two chatted for a while longer. When they looked at the time, it was already very late, so Harper reluctantly returned to her room.

After Riley finished washing up and lay down in bed, she found it difficult to fall asleep.

It took a long time before she finally entered the dreamland.

In a daze, she seemed to be back in the private room at Gourmet Haven.

She was trapped in a corner by a man, with Donovan's handsome face looming large in front of her, dangerously narrowing his eyes as he approached.

Just as their lips were about to touch, Riley suddenly woke up, drenched in cold sweat.

Because of that dream, she had almost spent the entire night without sleep.

The next morning, with dark circles under her eyes, Riley sat at the dining table and had breakfast with her two kids.

"Mommy, did you not sleep well last night?" Landon asked with concern when he saw her dark circles.

Riley paused for a moment and remembered the dream, then smiled after a few seconds, "Hmm, I accidentally stayed up too late studying yesterday."

The two children were always sensitive. Afraid of them asking further questions, Riley pretended to eat after speaking, lowering their head.

The two children looked at each other puzzled, but they didn't ask further, just reminding, "Mommy, don't get too tired, take care of yourself."

Riley nodded with a smile.

After breakfast, Riley took the two children to Harper's place to pick up the car.

"Choose whichever you like, don't be polite to me." Harper took them to the garage, holding a bunch of keys, looking like a millionaire.

Although the two children were young, they knew quite a few luxury cars. When they saw the cars in the garage, they clapped their hands in applause, "God-mother is so generous!"

Riley walked around and chose a mid-range Mercedes-Benz worth tens of thousands of dollars.

Harper directly gave her the keys.

With the car in hand, Riley drove and took the two children to school.

"Goodbye, mommy! Don't get too tired!"

After getting off the car, the two children obediently bid her farewell.

Riley touched their heads, "You guys too, behave in school, mommy will pick you up in the evening."

The two children nodded and walked into the school side by side.

Watching their backs disappear from sight, Riley turned and got in the car, started it, and slowly left the school entrance.

Two minutes later, a Rolls-Royce parked conspicuously at the kindergarten entrance.

Paxton got out of the car, opened the back door, and carefully carried Finley out.

Finley landed on her feet, turned her head, and waved to her father.

"Go inside." Donovan touched the little girl's head gently, his voice tender.

Hearing her father's words, Finley nodded and turned to enter the kindergarten.

Inside the car, Donovan looked at Finley's departing figure with a hint of doubt.

Compared to usual, Finley seemed noticeably happier today.

Perhaps it was because she had been interacting with other children in kindergarten.

It seems that the psychologist was right. Allowing the little girl to socialize more with other children can gradually alleviate her autism.
