Chapter 271 Even If She Dies, It Can't Make Up For It

Finley was naturally hesitant.

Hollis stood up and looked at Donovan. "Donovan, I'll go ask about changing rooms."

Finley turned to her dad, hoping he'd say no.

Donovan's face gave nothing away.

Even if he said no, Riley would probably insist on changing rooms when she got back. Riley was already unsure about sharing a room when Zoey suggested it yesterday. Seeing Hollis today only made her more determined to avoid him.

Thinking about Riley's reaction, Donovan almost agreed with Hollis.

Finley waited for her dad's response, but he stayed silent. Seeing Hollis really going to change rooms, she stomped her foot angrily and followed Hollis into the elevator.

Hollis was surprised. "Finley, what are you doing here? Just wait upstairs with your dad."

Finley kept her head down, not saying a word.

Hollis frowned and looked away, ignoring her.

Since they were alone in the elevator, Hollis didn't bother with the little one. Seeing Finley silent, she stopped pretending.

When the elevator reached the first floor and the doors opened slowly, Hollis's expression changed. With a slight smile, she reached out to Finley, but Finley had already run out of the elevator and the hotel.

For a moment, Hollis was flustered, even forgetting to chase after her and losing track of why she came downstairs.

Finley ran sulkily towards the botanical garden. She didn't like Hollis or her dad. She wanted to find Riley!

Back in the hotel, Hollis heard a commotion behind her.

"Where's Finley?" Donovan scanned the lobby, not seeing her, his face darkening.

Hearing Donovan, Hollis trembled. "She... she ran out..."

"Why didn't you stop her?" Donovan roared.

He knew Finley was stubborn but didn't expect this.

He had chased her, but the elevator doors closed. He had to wait for the next one, thinking Hollis would keep an eye on Finley.

He didn't expect Hollis to fail.

"I didn't expect her to run out. I asked her what she was doing, but she ignored me..." Hollis panicked.

"You better hope Finley doesn't get into trouble, or..." Donovan's cold look made it hard for Hollis to breathe. "Even if you die, it won't make up for this!"

With that, Donovan strode out.

Hollis stood there, dazed, before coming to her senses. She wanted to follow but her legs were weak.

Though she didn't like Finley, she knew her limits.

The Wilder family treated Finley like a gem. Bullying her secretly was one thing, but if something happened to Finley, her dream of marrying into the Wilder family would be over.
