Chapter 188 Let's Go to the Hospital for a Shot

Since she couldn't find Riley, Finley refused to go back with her father, so Donovan was present at the moment.

He hadn't expected to hear such news either.

Finley anxiously grabbed Donovan's sleeve. "Auntie..."

Donovan saw her intention and askedd in a deep voice, "What happened to Ms. Monroe?"

Sophie, unaware of the conflict between them, answered without thinking, "Ms. Monroe hasn't been herself since she came back yesterday. I thought she was just tired, but she started running a fever this afternoon. I need to go back and take care of her."

With that, Sophie prepared to leave with the two boys.

Landon and Winston were so worried that they forgot to say goodbye to Finley and hurriedly turned to leave.

Seeing this, Finley's eyes reddened with anxiety, and she softly murmured, "Auntie."

Donovan saw Finley's expression and, after a long silence, took her into the car, instructing the driver to follow Sophie to Riley's house.

Landon and Winston, preoccupied with their mommy, didn't say anything when they saw Donovan following and ran straight to their mommy's room.

Sophie didn't stop them, watching as Donovan led Finley upstairs.

Riley was awakened by the sound of the little ones opening the door. When she opened her eyes, she saw two pairs of big eyes looking at her.

"Mommy, how are you? Are you feeling very uncomfortable?" Landon reached out to touch Riley's forehead, alarmed by the temperature, his eyes full of worry.

Riley smiled reassuringly. "It's just a fever. I'll be fine after some sleep. Don't worry."

A small, soft voice suddenly sounded from the side. "Auntie..."

Riley was startled and turned her head to see Finley standing anxiously by the bed, her small hands gripping the edge, looking at her.

'Why is Finley here?' she wondered.

Almost instinctively, Riley glanced towards the door.

She saw a tall figure standing at the door. Meeting Riley's gaze, Donovan frowned slightly and walked in with big strides. "Is the fever serious?"

Riley withdrew her gaze with a complex expression, her face calm. "It's nothing. I'm a doctor myself. I know if it's serious or not. This low-grade fever will be fine after some sleep."

As soon as she finished speaking, Sophie couldn't help but retort, "You've been sleeping for a whole day and night, and it's not getting better. You should go to the hospital!"

A hint of doubt crossed Donovan's face.

Riley's hand clenched under the blanket, her mind foggy, unable to think of a reason to refuse.

She indeed had a serious fever and had planned to ask Sophie to take her to the hospital when she returned, but she hadn't expected Donovan to come along.

Landon and Winston, also worried, chimed in, "Mommy, we'll go with you to the hospital for a shot! Shots make you better faster! Every time we have a fever, you give us shots!"

Saying this, they reached for Riley's hand to help her up.

Finley, on the side, was so anxious that her eyes turned red.

Seeing the little ones' concern, Riley couldn't refuse them and nodded, looking at Sophie, "Alright, Sophie, please come with me."

Landon and Winston clamored to go along, but Riley frowned slightly. "You stay home and rest. I will be back soon."

It was so late and she didn't want the kids to tag along.

Sophie was about to agree when Donovan's deep voice sounded, "I'll take you. Sophie will stay home to look after the kids."
