Chapter 327 Chose That Bitch

Hollis looked like she had more to say, but Riley cut her off, "Gotta take my kid to the doc. Mr. Wilder, Ms. Sutton, see you around."

With that, she gave a cold nod and turned to leave.

Hollis opened her mouth, but seeing Riley's back, she snapped it shut, fuming. She balled her fists, trying to keep her cool. She wanted to show Riley her place, but it seemed like Riley didn't even care! But judging by how she acted with Donovan just now, she must've given up already.

Thinking that, Hollis felt a bit better and turned to Donovan. "Donovan, let's leave."

She shot a look in Riley's direction and griped to Donovan, "Ms. Monroe's got some nerve. Her kid's sick, we show some concern, and she gives us attitude. Did I say something wrong?"

Donovan didn't respond for a while. Hollis looked up, confused by his silence.

Donovan was just frowning, staring at Riley and the kids walking away, like he didn't hear a thing. Seeing this, a flash of anger crossed Hollis's face.

'What's so great about that chick?' she thought. Even with Riley's attitude, Donovan still cared about her!

Swallowing her jealousy, Hollis gently tugged Donovan's sleeve and said softly, "Donovan? What's on your mind? If you're worried about the kid, I can go with you to check on him."

She was trying to play the sweet and understanding card to win Donovan over.

She thought she was being thoughtful, but Donovan just pulled his gaze back, glanced at her arm, and said in a low voice, "No need. Your arm's hurt too. The consultation room's just a few steps away. You can handle it, right?"

Hollis was stunned, speechless. Did Donovan mean for her to see the doc alone?

Realizing this, Hollis frowned and put on a worried look. "I'm fine. The injury doesn't hurt much now. Maybe I just bumped it earlier and overreacted. But Ms. Monroe's kid is sick, and if I don't check on him, it wouldn't be right."

She suggested, "Why don't we go together?"

Donovan frowned and shot her down, "If you're alright, go upstairs and rest."

Hollis was stunned again, biting her cheek, her mind racing to keep Donovan with her. After a bit, a ruthless glint flashed in her eyes.

She was about to pull the same old trick and moved closer to Donovan. "But Auntie's coming soon. If she shows up and doesn't see you, I don't know how to explain it."

Upon the mention of his mom, Donovan's face tightened. He glanced at Riley and the kids who had entered the exam room, then turned back to Hollis and said, "I'll explain to her later. You go back first."

With that, he didn't give Hollis a chance to get closer and strode towards the pediatric exam room.

Hollis's plan flopped. Watching Donovan walk away, she clenched her teeth, her face twisted in anger. She wanted to show Riley her place, but Donovan ditched her for Riley again. She had brought this on herself, once more!
