Chapter 254 Sharing a Room with Other Parents

Donovan sat down with Finley in his arms, feeling her squirm and frowning in confusion.

Finley stared at Riley, wanting her to hold her instead.

Riley hadn't held her in a while, and Donovan's embrace wasn't comfy.

Riley tried to ignore them, but Finley's gaze made her turn.

"Riley," Finley reached out, wanting to be held.

Seeing Riley struggle with Landon in her arms, Donovan tightened his grip on Finley. "Finley, stop it."

Finley got more uncomfortable and squirmed. "Riley, hold me!"

Heads began to turn, and whispers filled the air as the commotion escalated.

Not wanting more attention, Riley nodded to Donovan. "Give her to me. I'll hold her."

She extended her arms, and Finley immediately leaned into them, finding solace in Riley's embrace. Now cradling both children, Riley's seat became cramped, but she didn't mind.

Donovan frowned. "I'll hold Landon."

Riley was surprised.

Considering the bond between Landon and Donovan, she felt conflicted.

She had noticed the kids resisting Donovan lately, making her wonder if Landon would be willing.

Especially since Landon was always so aloof.

Unexpectedly, Landon reached out to Donovan.

Both Riley and Donovan were surprised.

Donovan didn't expect Landon to agree so easily. He looked surprised but took Landon.

Riley felt anxious.

Landon just didn't want Riley to be too tired. He stayed tense in Donovan's arms, staring straight ahead.

It was Donovan's first time holding another child besides Finley, so he was very cautious.

Winston, sitting in the middle, felt a bit envious seeing Landon with Donovan.

Everyone went quiet.

Only Finley was happy, playing with Riley's fingers.

The rest of the trip was silent.

When they arrived, Landon jumped out of Donovan's arms and stood with Winston, ready to get off.

Riley put Finley down, letting her go to Donovan.

Getting off the bus, Riley held Landon and Winston's hands, while Donovan held Finley's, acting like nothing happened.

They were greeted by a lush green landscape.

The kindergarten had chosen a suburban botanical garden for the tree-planting event, halfway up a mountain, surrounded by vibrant woods.

It was remote, with only one nearby hotel.

Zoey had tried to book an extra room for Donovan and Finley but found the hotel fully booked, making her anxious and regretful.

She went to Donovan. "Mr. Wilder, the hotel is fully booked. You might have to share a room with another parent."

Donovan frowned, looking at Finley.

He didn't mind sharing, but Finley might not be okay with it.
