Chapter 211 Feed Each Other Drinks
Riley frowned, about to refuse when Harper squeezed out of the dance floor and plopped down next to her, giving the guy a quick once-over.
Under the dim bar lights, he looked refined and scholarly. His features were distinct, lacking in robustness, yet not frail either. His outfit probably cost around a hundred grand.
Maybe an eight out of ten, tops.
Before Riley could refuse, Harper jumped in, "Sure, got any friends? Bring 'em over!"
The guy's booth was right next to theirs. He'd noticed them dancing earlier. Seeing Harper agree, he called over a few of his buddies. They were all good-looking, well-dressed, and brought their pricey drinks along.
They were considerate, sitting neither too close nor too far from Riley and Harper.
Harper looked them over and raised an eyebrow. "So, all single?"
They all chimed in, "Who'd dare sit here if we weren't?"
Harper shot a meaningful glance at the guy who'd approached Riley and asked the group, "What about him?"
The guy smiled generously, signaling his friends to speak freely.
"Aaron Baker here has been single for years. We don't know what kind of woman could catch his eye, but today..." They all teased Aaron.
Aaron laughed and interrupted, "Is drinking not enough to keep your mouths busy?"
His friends tactfully changed the subject.
After a few words, Harper was already getting along well with the group, chatting animatedly.
Riley had come to the bar to drown her sorrows. She appeared confident on the surface but felt a bit uncomfortable inside in such a situation.
Harper, maybe caught up in the excitement, switched her seat to sit with the guys, leaving Riley sitting alone.
Aaron was also sitting on the edge. With Harper gone, there was no one between him and Riley.
"Sorry, are we bothering you?" Aaron, detached from his friends, looked at Riley apologetically.
Riley was momentarily stunned, then smiled calmly. "No, we're all here to drink. There's no such thing as bothering."
Aaron furrowed his brow slightly, concerned, "But you don't seem very enthusiastic. In a bad mood?"
Riley smiled faintly, which was both an acknowledgment and a polite refusal of his approach.
The colder Riley acted, the more interested Aaron became.
Seeing she didn't want to talk much, he sat to the side, drinking slowly, his gaze lingering on Riley's face.
Meanwhile, Harper kept an eye on the two. Observing their solitary drinking, she suggested they play a dare game where the person who drew the King of Hearts could make anyone do anything.
Without waiting for Riley to refuse, Harper handed her a card, keeping the King of Hearts for herself.
"Spade 7 and Diamond 5—"
Everyone checked their cards.
Riley looked at her Diamond 5, feeling a sense of foreboding.
Harper, looking relaxed, said, "I won't make it too hard. How about feeding each other drinks? That's not too much, right?"
Feeding each other drinks was indeed a simple dare. Since Riley had joined in, she didn't want to spoil the fun and agreed with a smile.
Aaron reluctantly revealed his Spade 7, glanced at the matchmaking Harper, and said to Riley, "Let's skip the feeding and just clink glasses."
Seeing Aaron had the Spade 7, Riley felt a bit down, realizing Harper's intention. She regretted agreeing so quickly earlier.
Hearing Aaron's suggestion, she felt relieved and raised her glass to clink with his.
