Chapter 14 Admiring Him

Riley knew nothing about what happened at the kindergarten.

After leaving the kindergarten, she went to report at the research institute set up by the teacher at the country.

Just as she entered the institute, she saw a handsome and elegant man in a dress shirt and trousers walking towards her.

"Riley, welcome back. I'm glad we can be colleagues again," Deacon Stone stood in front of her and extended his hand in a gentlemanly manner.

Riley nodded slightly and shook his hand briefly before quickly pulling away.

Previously, Deacon had also worked with Chandler's team abroad, engaging in various research and development matters.

During that time, Deacon had served as her assistant and had proven his abilities, having graduated from a prestigious school.

Despite Riley's cold attitude, Deacon didn't mind and smiled, saying, "Let me take you to your office."

After speaking, he turned around and led the way, introducing her to the structure and key personnel of the institute along the way.

Upon reaching the office, Deacon looked at Riley with a smile and said, "I had it arranged according to your previous preferences. Linda's workstation is outside."

Riley looked around and nodded in satisfaction, saying, "You really thought of everything. Thank you."

Deacon was taken aback for a moment, his smile on his face appeared tender, and his voice was gentle, "It's nothing. No need to be polite with me."

As he spoke, his gaze towards Riley revealed his unmistakable affection.

Even though he knew she was a mother of two, it didn't lessen his admiration for her.

After all, no matter how you looked at it, Riley was an exceptional woman, so outstanding that it overshadowed all her flaws.

Riley didn't notice the way he looked at her.

After a brief glance around the office, she turned to Deacon and said, "I came here today to understand how the institute operates. Can you show me around?"

Deacon's smile didn't waver, "Of course."

Riley nodded lightly, gesturing for him to lead the way.

Deacon walked ahead with a smile tinged with bitterness.

He liked Riley, but she only saw him as an ordinary subordinate.

It truly gave him a headache.

The two of them left the office area and headed straight for the core area of the institute.

When they reached the experimental area, they saw researchers wearing lab coats and masks busy at various workstations.

Riley didn't disturb them but asked Deacon for a brief introduction to each project and its research progress.

By the afternoon, Riley had gained a good understanding of the institute's situation.

At the same time, she had discovered an important issue.

Earlier, while they were visiting the experimental area, there was a basic working area that wasn't operational.

Riley asked the researchers and learned that they had run out of the necessary medications and were still waiting for them to be provided by the institute. This had been the case for several times in a row. Due to the delayed supply of medications, several research projects had to be temporarily halted, which increased the time cost required for these projects. Consequently, the institute suffered significant losses.

As Riley emerged from the experimental area, she furrowed her brow and looked seriously at Deacon. "Have we figured out a solution to the research delay caused by slow medication supply?"
