Chapter 79 Always Watching

Soon, Riley returned with the first aid kit and carefully applied the medicine to Finley.

Finley behaved very well throughout, only flinching slightly when it hurt, then quickly offering her hand again. Riley's heart melted at the sight.

After applying the medicine, Riley sat down next to Finley. Landon politely made room, holding his bowl and sitting next to Donovan.

"Do you want me to feed you?" Riley asked Finley. Finley naturally agreed, nodding eagerly.

Riley smiled and picked up her plate, feeding Finley.

With Riley feeding her, Finley's appetite suddenly improved. She eagerly watched Riley's face and ate whatever was offered to her.

Seeing Finley eat so obediently, Riley's smile grew wider.

Donovan sat across from them, observing their interaction. Every time something got on Finley's mouth, Riley would promptly wipe it away, and the pace of feeding was just right. Finley ate happily.

At that moment, Donovan's gaze became somewhat complicated. Landon and Winston also witnessed this scene, finding Finley's behavior cute and not feeling jealous at all.

They then turned their attention to Donovan. The next moment, the two of them exchanged a skeptical look.

If Landon and Winston weren't mistaken, Daddy seemed to have been staring at Mommy all along!

Moreover, his gaze didn't seem to hold any dislike; instead, it was somewhat affectionate.

Landon furrowed his brow, then set down his fork, picked up a side of vegetable salad, and handed it to Donovan, looking at him innocently, "Uncle, why aren't you eating? You should eat more!"

Hearing this, Donovan suddenly snapped out of his thoughts and instinctively thanked Landon, "Thank you."
After the words were spoken, Donovan's eyes darkened as he looked at the vegetable salad in front of him. It was quite a coincidence that the vegetable salad Landon handed to him only had celery.

Glancing over, the salad was a distance away from Landon, almost as if it had been intentionally placed there for him. After Landon finished speaking, he buried his face in the plate, watching the man beside him out of the corner of his eye.

Landon remembered from the investigation with Winston that celery was his father's least favorite vegetable. Although he didn't know why his father had abandoned his mother and now looked at his mother with such eyes, since he had abandoned his mother, he had to accept the punishment, and this bit of celery was just a small gesture!

Donovan held the fork, looking meaningfully at Landon.

Sensing his gaze, Landon raised his head, meeting his gaze without fear.

Donovan raised an eyebrow, unsure why, but he seemed to detect a hint of provocation in Landon's eyes. Nevertheless, he couldn't pinpoint the source of this provocation at the moment, so he didn't dwell on it.

"Do you not like celery?" Landon innocently looked at the man, his words carrying a hint of urgency.

Donovan smirked, "No."

With that, he nonchalantly put the celery from the plate into his mouth. Unseen by Landon, a trace of disdain flickered in Donovan's eyes as he forced himself to swallow the celery.

Riley witnessed the moment when the man put the celery in his mouth, catching the disdain in his eyes, which reminded her of a scene from six years ago.

"If you don't want to eat it, you don't have to." Riley withdrew her gaze, concealing the turmoil in her heart.

Donovan's voice remained flat, "I don't mind."

Riley's emotions surged, but she refrained from speaking further.
