Chapter 110 Drawing a Line with Him

Finley sat nearby, playing with her doll as asked, but he couldn't resist sneaking glances at Riley. He could hear their conversation vividly.

When Riley asked her daddy why he had let go of the two boys, Finley found it puzzling. He expected to hear her daddy explain that he had reconsidered his decision. However, as time passed, there was no response from her daddy.

Finley pouted in anger. "Daddy is a big liar, a meanie! He promised me he wouldn't expel the two boys, but he went back on his word," she thought to herself.

Fuming with frustration, Finley angrily tossed her toy aside and stormed upstairs without a second glance. She vowed to never trust her Daddy again.”

Seeing Finley's back, Donovan couldn't help but feel a headache. He knew that she had misunderstood because of their conversation and was angry with him again.

If Donovan chose not to provide an explanation, Finley would likely throw an even bigger tantrum. Pinching the bridge of his nose, Donovan spoke in a deep voice, "I did speak to the principal. However, after Finley caused a commotion, I instructed him not to expel Landon and Winston. Therefore, I am unsure of what you are referring to. If necessary, I can inquire further on your behalf.”

Riley perceived his actions as hypocritical and responded coldly, "Why should I trust you? The deed is done. The principal is on your side. Naturally, he will support you. You hold all the power. Do you still take me for a fool, Donovan?"

Riley's skepticism was not unwarranted. Donovan felt increasingly overwhelmed and was on the verge of providing a more detailed explanation when the individual in front of him rose from their seat.

"Donovan, I really wish I had never met you!" Riley said each word calmly, then turned and left with big strides.

Upon hearing this, Donovan's expression darkened as he gazed at Riley walking away.

As Riley's form disappeared from view, Donovan coldly retrieved his phone and dialed Paxton. "Investigate the situation at the kindergarten. Why did they defy my instructions?”

On the other end, Paxton heard the anger in Donovan's voice and immediately agreed.

After leaving the Wilder family estate, Riley drove aimlessly for a while, feeling completely drained. She scanned her surroundings and eventually parked her car in a secluded, dimly lit area, lost in her thoughts.

‘Why did you have to do this, Donovan? If you're aware that you're targeting your own sons, how do you think they would feel? And those two boys, growing up knowing they were despised by their father...’ she pondered.

Riley couldn't imagine how they would feel. Moreover, with Donovan's presence, Riley really needed help finding a new kindergarten for the two kids. Riley was afraid that those kindergartens would reject her for the same reasons over and over again.

Anticipating what might unfold next, Riley was overwhelmed with guilt towards Landon and Winston. Her eyes welled up with tears, threatening to spill over uncontrollably. Riley took a few deep breaths, making a conscious effort to compose herself.

This situation made her realize that Donovan would never accept the two boys. Landon and Winston only had her as their mother now, and she needed to be strong for them.

Not going to kindergarten was just a small matter. They could use this opportunity to draw a clear line with Donovan.

From now on, there should be no more contact.
