Chapter 150 Because of Her

Amid the splashing sounds, Finley's babyish voice stood out clearly.

Hearing this, Riley was taken aback and even doubted her own ears, staring in astonishment at Finley, who was squatting by the pool and looking at her with bright eyes.

Even Winston stopped in his tracks, not even caring that he was splashed with water.

But Finley had already turned back to continue playing with the little white whale, completely unaware of the three people's shocked expressions.

The next segment began, and the staff finally let them return to their seats.

Riley and her sons were still in a daze, but Finley nonchalantly sat down next to her.

"What's wrong?" Seeing their absent-minded looks, Donovan frowned and asked.

Riley snapped back to reality, glanced at Finley, and answered softly, "Finley just... seemed to speak."

And she spoke very fluently, with a very pleasant voice.

Donovan looked at Finley in surprise and asked, "What did she say?"

Riley was momentarily stunned. She had been so immersed in the joy of Finley speaking that she had almost forgotten.

Landon quietly repeated, "She said, the beluga whale kissed her."

Beside them, Winston couldn't contain his curiosity and asked, "Isn't Finley mute?"

They had always thought Finley was mute since the first time they met her because they had never seen her speak.

Donovan raised an eyebrow. "When did I ever say Finley was mute?"

Winston and Landon looked at each other in confusion.

Riley hesitated and said, "But Finley usually doesn't speak, and you even prepared a notebook for her to communicate by writing."

Mentioning this, Donovan felt a bit helpless. "Because of her autism, Finley usually doesn't like to talk. Even I only hear her say a word or two occasionally. Fortunately, she is still willing to communicate with us by writing."

Hearing the reason why Finley didn't speak, and recalling Finley's autistic episodes from a while ago, Riley felt a pang of heartache.

Donovan, however, was in a complex mood. Ever since Finley became aware of the world around her, she was found to have severe autism, and the number of times she spoke was few and far between.

Last time, Finley spoke out of urgency because of Riley's departure.

'If what Riley, Winston, and Landon said is true, that Finley spoke up again in Riley's presence, then both times Finley spoke were related to Riley... Is this the power of the bond between a mother and daughter?' Thinking of this, Donovan's eyes darkened slightly. He looked at Finley and gently asked, "Finley, did you have fun playing with the white whale just now?"

Finley smiled, showing her dimples, but only nodded obediently without speaking.

Seeing this, Donovan frowned slightly and patiently continued to ask, "What did you play with the white whale? Can you tell Daddy?"

Winston, hearing Finley speak for the first time, found it fascinating and wanted to hear more. He also urged, "Finley, tell me too. My white whale was so naughty. When I bathed it, it splashed water all over me and my brother. Why is yours so well-behaved?"

Hearing the barrage of questions, Finley furrowed her delicate eyebrows, feeling a bit troubled. But she still turned to rummage through the bag Riley brought, trying to find paper and pen to write for them.

Donovan noticed Finley's intention, frowned slightly, and didn't say anything more.
