Chapter 36 Don't Know This Man
Donovan, however, only glanced at her before turning and coldly looking at Mia, gripping her wrist. "Apologize."
Mia suddenly froze upon hearing Donovan's words. "Van, what did you say?"
Donovan looked down at her from above, giving off a strong oppressive feeling. "Grandpa Benedict's condition is critical now. If there really is someone who can save him, you would have sought out renowned doctors from both inside and outside the country, but no such person has appeared."
Mia was shocked by his aura and nervously lowered her head.
"This person," Donovan paused and glanced at the person behind him before continuing, "Ms. Monroe, is unrelated to the Benedict family. She came specifically to treat Grandpa Benedict. If you don't believe her, that's fine, but it doesn't justify your actions. Is this how the Benedict family raised you? Apologize to her immediately!"
Seeing this scene, Dalton was also surprised, and he could hardly believe his eyes.
Did he see it correctly? Did Van actually speak up for a stranger?
However, it was understandable.
After all, from the beginning, his sister had been causing trouble and even laid a hand on Dr. Monroe.
Dalton never expected her to act so impulsively today.
When he saw Donovan reprimand her, he also frowned and said to Mia, "Mia, Van is right. Apologize to Dr. Monroe immediately! Even if you're in a hurry, it doesn't justify harming others! You were too impulsive!"
Mia gritted her teeth as she looked at the people in front of her.
Donovan shielded the woman behind him, firmly insisting that she apologize. Her brother also spoke up for the woman. Even Finley held a book, demanding an apology from her!
At that moment, she had no other choice!
Mia thought it over for a long time, reluctantly lowering her head. "I'm sorry, Dr. Monroe. It was indeed my impulse. I apologize to you for laying hands on you."
Her apology sounded harsh.
Riley, on the other hand, completely ignored her and absentmindedly looked at the man in front of him.
What did he want to do?
Why was he helping her now?
Before treating Mr. Benedict Senior, it was him who troubled her. While helping Mr. Benedict Senior, it was also him who lent a hand. Now, when she faced questioning, it was still him who spoke up for her.
Riley realized that she really didn't understand him anymore.
"Dr. Monroe, Mia is already aware of her mistake. You don't have to forgive her, but as you said, my grandfather's situation is very urgent. Can you please treat him first? Afterward, we can discuss how you want to make amends."
Dalton's voice rang in her ears.
Though Riley was angry, she suppressed her displeasure when she thought about the situation at the institute.
And Dalton was right. Mr. Benedict Senior was innocent; he was just a patient in desperate need of a doctor.
Thinking of this, Riley calmed down and looked at everyone in the room, coolly saying, "For the next treatment, I don't want any unrelated people disturbing us."
Mia was about to say that she was a family member when she heard Riley say, "Including Miss Benedict."
After hearing this, Mia's expression became a bit displeased.
Dalton immediately agreed and had everyone else leave.
Only him, Donovan, and Finley, who couldn't bear to leave her dad, remained in the room. Only then did Riley sit down by the bedside.
