Chapter 282 Staying Here with You
After checking thoroughly, Riley relaxed when she saw Finley only had some scrapes.
But Donovan was still worried and insisted Finley stay overnight for observation.
Seeing it was late, Riley said, "Since Finley's okay, I'll take the kids home. Call me if you need anything."
As she turned to leave, Donovan grabbed her wrist.
Riley gasped.
"Have her checked too," Donovan told the doctor, still holding her wrist.
Riley protested, "I'm fine. I just want to go home and rest."
But Donovan didn't let go.
Riley reluctantly showed the doctor her wrist, revealing a scrape with some blood.
She had gotten it while helping Finley earlier and didn't want the kids to worry, but Donovan had noticed.
Seeing her scrape, Donovan's eyes darkened.
The kids were worried. "Mommy, you're hurt!"
Riley smiled. "It's just a small scrape, nothing serious."
The doctor quickly treated her wound, and they left the emergency room.
Paxton handled Finley's hospital admission.
Riley, still worried, followed Donovan to the room.
After placing Finley on the bed, she slowly woke up.
Landon and Winston immediately leaned over, excited. "You're awake! Are you okay? Do you feel uncomfortable?"
Finley blinked, then shook her head.
The kids sensed something was off but were too happy to dwell on it. They chatted with Finley.
Riley watched, then touched Finley's face.
Finley smiled and touched Riley's bandaged wrist, looking worried.
Riley reassured her, "It's just a scrape. It doesn't hurt."
She asked, "Finley, you must be hungry. What do you want to eat?"
Finley thought for a moment, then shook her head.
Riley's eyes dimmed, and she looked at Donovan.
Donovan's expression was dark too.
They realized Finley hadn't spoken since waking up, not even to Riley or the kids.
Clearly, the incident had affected her.
"It's late. You should take the kids home," Donovan said.
Riley hesitated.
If she hadn't known about Finley's current situation, she would have taken the kids home.
But seeing Finley like this, how could she leave?
Finley, hearing Daddy wanted Riley to leave, anxiously grabbed Riley's clothes.
Riley gently held her hand. "I'll stay with you."
She turned to Donovan. "I'll stay with Finley. She must be hungry. Can you get her something to eat?"
Donovan agreed and had Paxton buy food for everyone. They all had a meal in the hospital room.
