Chapter 431 Left Her to Me
Feeling all sorts of mixed emotions, Riley finished breakfast and walked out of the dining room with Finley.
The moment they stepped into the living room, Riley could feel the tension in the air.
Landon and Winston were perched on the sofa, looking all serious and almost defensive as they glared at Donovan, who was standing nearby like he'd done something to tick them off.
Riley frowned at the sight.
She had thought Landon and Winston's attitude towards Donovan was because of her.
But thinking back, even from the first meeting, their attitude towards Donovan wasn't great.
Now, she just wanted to keep her distance from Donovan, but they seemed to still hold some hostility towards him.
Riley couldn't figure out the reason.
On the other side, Landon and Winston saw Riley holding Finley and shifted their gaze from Donovan, smiling as they approached her, "Mommy!"
Riley put away her thoughts and smiled at them.
Landon and Winston then enthusiastically looked at Finley. "Is Finley going to school with us today?"
Hearing this, Riley instinctively glanced at Donovan.
She had planned this while eating, but she didn't know Donovan's attitude.
Donovan said nothing and directly walked out the door.
Seeing this, Riley was stunned for a moment, then took the kids out the door. As they left the house, Donovan was already in the car, gazing in their direction.
Riley looked down at Finley beside her.
Finley pursed her lips, let go of Riley's hand, and ran over to cling to Donovan's car window, looking pitifully at him.
She wanted to stay with Riley.
Donovan naturally knew Finley's thoughts and also saw Riley's guilt towards Finley. He said in a deep voice, "You can ride in Riley's car."
Hearing this, Finley's eyes lit up, and she happily ran back to Riley. "Daddy said I can ride in your car!"
Riley breathed a sigh of relief, bent down to pat Finley's head, and took her into her car.
She thought Donovan was handing Finley over to her.
But as soon as she got the kids in the car, she saw Donovan's Bentley in front slowly start and head towards the kindergarten.
Riley drove behind his car, feeling puzzled.

Seeing Finley's sweet smile through the rearview mirror, Riley felt a pang of reluctance, even wishing the road to the kindergarten was a bit longer.
Finley hadn't smiled for long when the kindergarten was already in sight.
Riley watched the Bentley in front slowly stop by the roadside, and she stopped at a distance, getting out with the kids.
Donovan also got out of the car in front, holding a little pink schoolbag, and walked towards them.
Riley suddenly remembered that Finley's schoolbag was still in Donovan's car.
Riley didn't know what Donovan was up to. He could have just handed her Finley's schoolbag and gone straight to the company himself.
