Chapter 20 What is the Relationship Between That Man and Her?

After coming out of the private room, Riley had nowhere to go, so she had to hide in the stairwell.

Leaning against the wall, she took deep breaths and touched her bruised lips, still warm from the man's kiss.

After a moment, Riley lowered her eyes self-mockingly.

For so many years, she thought she no longer had feelings for Donovan, but she didn't expect her heart to be completely stirred up after just one encounter.

Taking a moment to rest and stabilize her emotions, Riley returned to the private room.

The employees inside were still lively, and when they saw her come in, they only slightly quieted down.

Deacon looked at her, sensing that she was different from when she left, and furrowed his brows. "Why did you take so long? Did something happen? You seem a bit off."

Riley laughed and shook her head. "Nothing, I just had a phone call with my son."

After speaking, she sat down and didn't give Deacon a chance to ask further.

She was indeed gone for quite a while, and when she came back, everyone had almost finished eating.

Riley wasn't in the mood either, so she simply let everyone go home.

They all walked downstairs together, and the employees bid farewell to Riley and Deacon.

Afterwards, only the two of them were left.

Deacon kindly suggested, "If you don't mind, I can drive you home. You drank quite a bit tonight, and I'm worried."

Riley nodded slightly, not refusing. "Thank you, that would be great."

After returning to the country, she hadn't had a chance to buy a car for herself.

It seems like she should put that on her agenda.

"My pleasure."

Deacon stepped forward and opened the car door for her.

Riley thanked him again and got into the car without hesitation.

At the same time, at the entrance of the restaurant, Paxton watched Mr. Wilder's back with a sinking feeling.

How... coincidental?

They happened to see Riley getting into another man's car.

As the car slowly drove away, Paxton cautiously glanced at Mr. Wilder's expression.

Donovan's face was gloomy, his gaze fixed on the departing car.

After a while, he looked away and instructed Paxton, "Go find out who that man is! And what is his relationship with her!!!"

Paxton quickly agreed.

The Wilder family estate.

When Donovan entered the house, it was already nine o'clock. He glanced at the living room and didn't see Finley's figure, furrowing his brows. "Where's Finley?"

Cole, who was in charge of taking care of Finley, came down from upstairs. "Mr. Wilder, Finley has finished taking a bath and is waiting in her room. Would you like to go up and see her?"

Donovan nodded slightly and went upstairs.

"Mr. Wilder, there is something else," Cole hesitated before speaking. "Tonight, when Finley came back, she had a heavy bruise on her wrist. I asked her, but she refused to tell me. I don't know if she was bullied at kindergarten. I think we should take this matter seriously."

Donovan's face darkened. "Understood, I'll go upstairs and take a look."

After saying that, he quickened his pace and walked to Finley's door, raising his hand to knock.

Soon, Finley came to open the door for him. Seeing him, she had no reaction and just turned and went inside.

Donovan followed her and saw the little girl return to the table, holding a paintbrush and not knowing what she was painting.

Seeing her serious expression, he didn't disturb her and waited for a while. When he saw her put down the brush, he spoke in a low voice, "Cole said you were injured, and let Daddy to take a look at your injury."
