Chapter 91 She Should Be Happy to Send You
After dinner, Mr. Benedict Senior went upstairs to rest.
Riley followed to check on Mr. Benedict Senior's health, then bid farewell to everyone downstairs.
Dalton spoke up, "It's late. Let me walk you out."
Riley smiled and declined, "No need. There are still guests here. You should stay with them."
Upon hearing this, Dalton didn't insist, only saying, "In that case, take care on your way. Also, don't take my grandfather's words to heart. He's old and likes to worry about these things."
Riley smiled and left.
"It's getting late. I still have work to finish so that I won't stay any longer." Donovan watched Riley leave the villa and spoke in a deep voice.
Feeling wary, Hollis immediately excused herself. "I need to leave too. Let's go together."
Donovan calmly refused. "No, we're going different ways. I'll leave first."
After saying this, Donovan didn't give Hollis a chance to speak and left on his own.
Seeing Donovan's indifferent figure, Hollis stood still, looking stunned.
Dalton couldn't help but frown slightly.
For some reason, Dalton had felt that something was off among Donovan, Riley, and Hollis since dinner.
But he couldn't pinpoint the reason.
"Hollis?" Mia, seeing Hollis' dazed expression, called out in confusion.
Hearing Mia's voice, Hollis snapped back to reality, forcing a smile. "I have some work to attend to as well, so I won't disturb you all."
Dalton and Mia noticed her odd behavior but didn't inquire further. After exchanging pleasantries, they saw Hollis off.
Back at the villa, Dalton couldn't help but ask Mia, "How do you know that Dr. Monroe has children?"
Mia pursed her lips. "I saw it when I went out to dinner with Hollis last time. And I also know she is Donovan's ex-wife. I really don't know how she has the nerve to come back!"
Upon hearing this, Dalton couldn't help but feel astonished, then slowly snapped back to reality.
No wonder he always felt something strange between Donovan and Dr. Monroe.
So, Dr. Monroe turned out to be the woman from six years ago!
As Riley got into the car and thought about the conversation at the dinner table, her mind was still unsettled.
Riley sat in the car for a moment, calming her thoughts before slowly starting the vehicle.
Suddenly, the car window was tapped twice.
Riley turned her head to look, puzzled.
Upon seeing the figure outside, Riley immediately averted her gaze, pretending not to have heard anything.
The person outside, however, persisted and knocked twice more, even bending down to look into the car.
Despite knowing that she couldn't be seen from outside, Riley couldn't help but feel a tightening in her heart and hesitantly lowered the car window. "What's up?"
Donovan stood tall and elegant by the car and, upon hearing her, casually raised an eyebrow. "I didn't drive here. If it's convenient, could you give me a ride?"
With that, Donovan reached to open the car door.
Riley was momentarily caught off guard, watching as Donovan opened the door and sat in the passenger seat.
"Let's go." Donovan nonchalantly fastened his seatbelt and spoke leisurely.
It was only then that Riley belatedly came to her senses, reluctantly asking, "Where's your driver?"
Donovan calmly replied, "It's late. Since there's a ride available, why bother the driver to come over?"
Riley fell silent, only to speak up after a while, "If I remember correctly, Miss Sutton is still around and would probably be happy to give you a ride."
