Chapter 224 It's Just What

After getting to the office, Donovan saw Paxton waiting by the door.

"Mr. Wilder," Paxton greeted quickly.

Donovan frowned. "What's up?"

Paxton looked serious. "There's an issue with the North City branch. We need to send a senior exec. Who do you think should go?"

"North City?" Donovan's eyes darkened, thinking of Riley, who was there. He replied coldly, "I'll go myself."

Paxton was surprised. "But your schedule today..."

The North City problem wasn't significant enough to require Donovan's personal attention, and he had back-to-back meetings planned. But Donovan interjected sharply, "Get me the next flight and reschedule my appointments."

Without another word, Donovan strode towards the elevator. Paxton quickly sprang into action, rearranging Donovan's schedule, booking the flight tickets, and catching up to him.

They arrived in North City by noon, and the local manager picked them up and took them to a hotel.

At the hotel, the manager said, "This place is famous. There's a medical conference today with many big names attending."

Donovan nodded, keeping a calm face, but his mind was racing.

After settling in, Paxton asked, "Mr. Wilder, when should we meet the local manager?"

Donovan seemed to ignore him and said, "Find out about any medical conferences here, especially if Adam is attending."

The manager's words had reminded him that Riley and Adam, both in the medical field, might be at the conference.

Paxton was puzzled by the sudden command but quickly agreed.

It took him nearly an hour to gather the info.

Paxton rushed back to report. "Mr. Wilder, there's an academic conference here this afternoon, and Adam's on the list, but..."

Donovan frowned. "But what?"

"The conference just ended," Paxton said, feeling guilty.

He found out half an hour too late.

"Are Adam and Riley both there?" Donovan asked coldly.

Paxton nodded. He had checked the list and saw their names.

Seeing him nod, Donovan's face grew colder. "Find out which hotel they're staying at."

Paxton started to understand Donovan's motive. After a moment, he said, "Mr. Wilder, they have a dinner near this hotel tonight. Mr. Smith and Ms. Monroe are likely to attend."

Donovan nodded. "Set the meeting with Brandon Hughes from Prosperity Group at that restaurant tonight."

Paxton agreed and quickly contacted the other party's secretary to confirm.

The other side had no objections.
