Chapter 193 No More Emotions

"Mommy, how are you? Has the fever gone down?" Landon and Winston ran to the bedside, their faces full of concern.

Riley smiled and nodded. "Yes, it's much better now."

The two kids were still worried and reached out to feel her forehead.

Seeing this, Riley cooperated by leaning down, letting them touch her forehead.

Just as she was about to get up, she saw Finley standing behind them. She was biting his lip, his eyes watery, and his face full of worry.

Compared to Landon and Winston, she seemed a bit timid.

Riley's heart softened, and she smiled at Finley, "Finley, do you want to come over and check?"

Finley was stunned for a moment, then seriously nodded, let go of Sophie's hand, and quickly walked over.

Riley was still leaning down. Seeing Finley reach out, she grabbed her wrist and guided her hand to her forehead.

After a moment, Finley slowly withdrew her hand, and the worry on her face lessened significantly.

"Sorry, did I scare you?" Thinking of how anxious the kids had looked when she came to the hospital yesterday, Riley apologetically patted their heads.

Winston nodded without hesitation. "Landon and I will be good, so mommy, please don't get so tired anymore, okay?"

Landon also had a serious expression. Although he didn't speak, his attitude clearly agreed with Winston.

Riley smiled and agreed, "Okay, mommy will take good care of myself."

Sophie placed a thermos on the bedside table. "You haven't eaten anything this morning, right? I brought you some food. Come and eat."

Sophie said as she took out two bowls, serving each of them some porridge, and placed some side dishes on the side.

Riley nodded in thanks. "Thank you."

Donovan didn't have much of an appetite, but since Sophie had already served it, he could only agree.

They both reached out at the same time, and the bowls were placed very close, causing their hands to inevitably brush against each other.

Riley's movement froze slightly, and she instinctively looked up at Donovan, meeting his deep gaze.

Their eyes met, and Riley came back to her senses, lowering her eyes to suppress the strange feeling in her heart, and picked up the bowl as if nothing had happened.

Sophie's voice sounded again, "It was really troublesome for Mr. Wilder last night, taking care of Ms. Monroe all night."

Donovan nodded indifferently. "It was my duty."

After speaking, Donovan glanced at Riley and added, "After all, Finley likes her so much, I naturally should take care of her more, and Ms. Monroe has taken care of Finley a lot before."

The implication was that he took care of Riley because of Finley.

Riley had heard this once last night, so hearing it again now didn't stir any emotions in her.

Sophie, however, was taken aback.

Seeing the way these two interacted last night, she had thought there was romance blossoming between them.

Now, hearing Donovan say this, she felt a bit awkward. "I see."

On the side, Landon heard Sophie mention that Donovan had taken care of their mommy all night. He pursed his lips, turned from the bedside, and looked at Donovan not far away. He bowed politely but distantly. "Thank you, Uncle, for taking care of my mommy."

He and Riley thought the same way. Since Donovan had disappointed their mom again, they should distance themselves from him. But this time, Donovan did help her, so he should thank him.

Winston quickly followed suit and bowed.

Seeing the two boys' distant attitude, Donovan frowned slightly and nodded silently in response.
