Chapter 86 She's Never Been This Attached to Me
Finley was running quietly, waving to the beautiful aunt Riley and little brothers at the gate as she ran.
Seeing Finley so carefree, Riley hurriedly took a few steps forward to grab Finley as she wasn't paying attention to the road. Riley then glanced at Donovan, who was walking towards them at a leisurely pace, feeling somewhat helpless.
Finley, holding Riley's hand, had a big smile on her face. When they finally stopped, Finley even affectionately hugged Riley's leg.
Landon and Winston, not jealous at all, greeted Finley with smiles on their faces.
As Donovan approached and stood not too far from them, Winston boldly tugged at Donovan's suit jacket.
Donovan looked down in confusion.
"Good morning, Uncle Donovan!" Winston smiled innocently.
Seeing this, Donovan raised an eyebrow in surprise, then softened his expression. "Good morning to you, too."
Receiving a response from his dad, Winston's smile brightened even more.
Landon nodded politely at Donovan, acting like a little adult.
Donovan nodded back.
Observing the familiarity between the two families, the teacher couldn't help but say to Riley, "Landon's mom, it seems like you have a great relationship with Finley Wilder. It's rare. I've been teaching her for so long, and she's never been this attached to me."
Riley glanced at Finley, who was hugging her leg, and just smiled without commenting.
For a while, Finley didn't want to leave Riley's side, and since they arrived early, many kids hadn’t arrived yet.
Riley stood with the kids at the gate, chatting with the teacher.
As Donovan had called the principal last night to cancel the expulsion decision, it was as if the previous incident never happened.
Even when they left, the teacher didn't mention the expulsion of Landon and Winston.
Riley was left in the dark.
Watching the three kids holding hands enter kindergarten, Riley turned to leave but unexpectedly met Donovan's ambiguous gaze, causing her heart to skip a beat.
Donovan stood silently behind Riley as she chatted with the teacher. She almost forgot Donovan was there.
"CEO Wilder, if there's nothing else, I'll head to work now," Riley said, leaving without waiting for Donovan's response.
As Riley walked away, Donovan's eyes darkened.
The way Riley interacted with the kids and the teacher just now made him feel somewhat dizzy, as if they were a family.
It wasn't until Riley's car passed by Donovan that he snapped out of his thoughts, heading towards the Bentley parked by the roadside.
Leaving the kindergarten, Riley went straight to the research institute.
Thanks to the Benedict family's herbal supplies, the previously stagnant research projects were back on track and making good progress.
After a busy morning at the institute, Riley received a call from Dalton at noon.
"Dr. Monroe, when will you come over this afternoon? I'm waiting for you at home."
Suddenly, Riley remembered she had to treat Mr. Benedict Senior in the afternoon.
She had been so busy in the morning that if it hadn't been for Dalton's call, she might have forgotten about such an important task.
Coming back to her senses, Riley glanced at the remaining work and arranged a time.
In the afternoon, Riley arrived early on purpose.
The Benedict family's butler already knew Riley and, seeing the improvement in Elder Master's health under her care, treated her with great respect and welcomed her in a very courteous manner.
As soon as she entered, Riley frowned slightly upon seeing the person sitting on the sofa.
"Nice to see you again, Ms. Monroe."
Hollis lounged on the couch, her lips slightly curled, but her eyes filled with coldness.
