Chapter 37 Getting Close with Someone for the First Time
This time, nobody disturbed them, and Riley's treatment process went much smoother.
In no time, there were already many medical instruments placed on Mr. Benedict Senior's chest.
Throughout the process, Riley barely blinked her eyes, focusing all her attention on Mr. Benedict Senior.
She was so engrossed in the treatment that she didn't notice Donovan fixedly staring at her.
When they were downstairs, Donovan had already looked through Riley's resume. She was stunningly beautiful and flawless, making it easy to imagine how wonderful these past six years must have been for her.
This was the first time he had seen her in a different way than before.
The focus she had while practicing medicine, as well as her assertiveness when discussing her profession.
These were all traits he had never seen in Riley before.
Seeing all of this today, Donovan's emotions were indescribable.
On the side, Dalton had been observing Riley's position during the treatment, as well as her expressions while treating.
After the treatment, he was pleasantly surprised to find that this doctor might actually be able to save Mr. Benedict Senior!
However, when he remembered Riley's expression while treating, he somehow felt he could trust her.
So, Dalton insisted on keeping the person around.
Now seeing Riley's calm demeanor and skilled techniques during each treatment, it further confirmed his belief that she had some real skills!
Moreover, he noticed that Riley's method of treatment was in a very dangerous position, where even a slight mistake could lead to failure and even jeopardize Mr. Benedict Senior's life!
He believed that Riley wouldn't have the audacity to risk Mr. Benedict Senior's life.
In other words, she truly had a proficient understanding of the human body and illnesses!
Thinking about this, Dalton felt a sense of joy while also feeling profound admiration for Riley from the bottom of his heart.
She looked like she was younger than him, yet she already had such great abilities, which was truly impressive.
The room fell silent.
After nearly twenty minutes, with a forehead covered in cold sweat, Riley completed the final step and a sense of relief appeared on her face.
"It's done. Mr. Benedict Senior can rely on these now. Remove the treatment equipment after one hour."
She looked up and glanced at the two people by the sickbed.
Dalton let out a long sigh of relief and carefully helped Mr. Benedict Senior lean against the head of the bed, asking, "When do you think my grandpa will wake up?"
"After removing the equipment, he should wake up."
Riley stood up and attempted to reach for some tissues to wipe away her sweat.
Just as she reached out towards the tissue box, her clothes were gently tugged from behind.
Riley paused and lowered her head in confusion, only to meet Finley's bright eyes.
Although she knew that Finley was Donovan's child from another relationship, Riley couldn't bring herself to be tough with such a cute little face that looked like an angel's.
Seeing her look over, Finley lowered his head and took out a neatly folded handkerchief from his pocket. He tiptoed and held it up in front of her, his eyes filled with anticipation.
Riley hesitated for a few seconds, but still smiled at her, "Thank you." After saying that, he reached out and took the handkerchief from the little girl's hand.
Finley smiled happily, turned around, and went to pour water for her.
On the side, Donovan silently watched as Finley walked around enthusiastically, his gaze deepening.
For this little girl, it was the first time she had willingly approached someone.
However, considering their relationship, Donovan felt it was only natural.
Dalton didn't know the specific reason, but he felt surprised, "Dr. Monroe, it seems like Finley really likes you. It's the first time I've seen Finley get so close to someone!"
