Chapter 52 Want to See You
Donovan abruptly stopped his work.
"I'm going back right away!" Hanging up the phone, he hurriedly returned to the Wilder family estate.
"What happened? With so many people watching, how could she disappear?" Back at the villa, Donovan asked sternly.
The staff stood in the living room, trembling with fear, too afraid to lift their heads under the pressure.
The butler cautiously spoke first, "We're not sure either. Finley had breakfast this morning and went back to her room. Cole went upstairs to find her and discovered that she was no longer there." Donovan furrowed his brows, "What about the surveillance?"
The butler lowered his head. "Mr. Wilder, the surveillance. It was turned off at some point and there is no footage from this morning."
After hearing this, Donovan's face immediately darkened.
The living room fell into silence. Everyone was afraid and wished they could hide.
Who would have expected that in such a short time, Finley would have escaped right under their noses not once, but twice!
If something happened to Finley, they would all be out of a job.
Donovan looked up and saw the bodyguards he had sent to take care of Finley standing in the crowd. He immediately became furious. "What are you all still doing standing here? Go and find her! If you can't find her, none of you will have a job!"
After saying this, the men hastily replied and quickly left the villa.
Riley looked at the little girl in front of her with some distress.
It was already late and she was supposed to be at the institute with the two children she was taking care of. However, this little girl's appearance disrupted her plans.
And to make matters worse, the little girl had taken a taxi here herself. Riley couldn't possibly let her go back on her own.
After a moment of contemplation, Riley sighed in her heart and made way for her to enter the house. "Come in."
Finley's eyes lit up and she nodded eagerly, following behind Riley into the villa.
"Have you had breakfast?" Riley asked, showing her concern.
Finley sat down on the sofa and obediently nodded after listening.
Riley sat next to her with the two children. After hesitating for a while, she couldn't help but ask, "Can you tell Auntie if you really came here to play with Landon and Winston? Or is it like last time, when you ran away from home? Do your family members know that you came to Auntie's place?"
Finley tilted her head and wrote in her book.
Landon and Winston shared serious expressions. "You dared to take a taxi alone? What if you encountered bad people and got kidnapped? Didn't the teacher teach us in class that children should not go out alone?"
After they finished speaking, Finley finished writing and held up the book for them to see.
"I want to see Auntie, I want to see you."
Riley frowned. "You ran away from home because of us?"
Finley nodded vigorously and wrote two more words in her book. "I like."
Riley was puzzled. What did she mean by liking?
"You like us?" Landon guessed.
Finley nodded again.
Upon seeing this, Riley's heart softened even more.
This little girl was so adorable. To be honest, she really liked her.
Although she knew this was Donovan's child with another woman, she couldn't bring herself to dislike this well-behaved child.
However, what the little girl did was still too dangerous.
"Thank you for liking me, but it's not right for a child to run away from home. Your daddy will definitely worry. Auntie will tell him for you, okay?" After much thought, Riley softly asked for Finley's opinion.
Although she didn't want to contact Donovan, his child was with her after all.
As parents themselves, Riley knew that Donovan must be very worried right now.
Finley lowered her eyes, feeling somewhat unwilling.
Daddy was a bad guy, but the beautiful aunt and Landon and Winston were so nice to her.
Daddy didn't let her have contact with them.
However, the beautiful aunt's voice was so gentle.
After a while, Finley reluctantly nodded.
