Chapter 127: First Abandoning Mommy, Then Bullying Them

Riley agreed and took Donovan upstairs.

In the room, only a faint night light illuminated the space, and Finley was already fast asleep. Riley, mindful of not disturbing her, moved with great care.

Donovan stood outside the door, his hands in his pockets, his gaze shifting slowly from Finley to the room's decor. He observed the exceptional tidiness and cleanliness of Riley's room.

Some small toys appeared to be gifts from the two children, lending a warm and homely atmosphere to the room.

After looking for a while, Donovan's long-standing anger dissipated, leaving only a sense of warmth.

"All done," Riley said after finishing applying medicine to Finley.  She carefully watched for a moment, noticing that the little girl was still asleep, before standing up with a sense of relief. As soon as she turned around, she was met with Donovan's scrutinizing gaze.

Their eyes met, and both were momentarily stunned.

Donovan collected his thoughts and nodded slightly. "Thank you."

Riley averted her gaze, closed the door, and led him downstairs.

After a brief discussion about Finley's condition, Riley checked the time. It was getting late, so she suggested ending the conversation. "It's getting late. You should head back and get some rest. Don't worry, I'll take care of Finley.”

Donovan's eyes darkened slightly as he nodded noncommittally. He rose from the sofa and stated, "I have already notified the kindergarten. If you are willing to overlook the past incidents, you can send Landon and Winston back to school whenever you wish.”

Riley nodded in agreement. "I will. Also, I think Finley should go to kindergarten, too, to spend more time with other kids."

Moreover, returning to a familiar environment might help with her condition.

After speaking, Riley anxiously awaited Donovan's response.

After all, she needed Donovan's consent to do this.

She expected Donovan to inquire about her decision, but to her surprise, he remained silent for a few moments before speaking in a deep voice. "Alright, do as you wish. You don't need to inform me.”

After all, as Finley's biological mother, she had that right.

Riley was a bit puzzled, feeling that Donovan's trust in her was somewhat excessive.

Upon further reflection, she realized that Donovan had always shown affection for Finley. Maybe he entrusted her with Finley's care simply because Finley liked her.

Thinking of this, Riley nodded, "Okay."

Donovan said nothing more and turned to leave.

The following morning, Riley woke the three young ones, got them ready, and readied to take them to kindergarten.

Upon stepping out of the villa, they immediately spotted Donovan standing at the door.

“You've already taken care of Finley. I can assist with the small task of taking them to school.”

Riley and the two little ones were both stunned.

The two little ones turned to seek their mommy's opinion.

Riley glanced down at Finley, who was clinging to her clothes. After a brief moment of hesitation, she calmly agreed.

The four of them took their seats in the same positions as the previous night. Landon occasionally cast a glance at Donovan beside him, his emotions somewhat mixed.

He felt he should hate this man. Donovan had first abandoned their mommy and then bullied them.

But for some reason, he couldn't bring himself to hate him.

During the journey, only Riley and Winston occasionally spoke to Finley, as the two individuals in the front remained silent throughout the entire trip.
