Chapter 108 Donovan, What Exactly Does He Mean

That evening, after Riley finished work, she came to pick up Landon and Winston on time.

There were only the two of them left at the kindergarten entrance, with the teacher looking after them on the side.

“Sorry, I'm late again.” Riley apologized with a smile, approaching to take Landon and Winston.

The teacher, however, protected Landon and Winston, somewhat awkwardly smiling at her. “Let me watch them for a while longer. The principal wants to talk to you, waiting for you in the office.”

Hearing this, Riley was a bit puzzled but still turned to go upstairs, knocking on the door of the principal's office.

For some unknown reason, the principal's expression seemed strange.

“The teacher said you wanted to talk to me. Is there something wrong?” Riley asked puzzledly.

The principal wore a forced smile on his face and slowly spoke, “Well, I've observed for two days and feel that your two children are not quite suitable for our kindergarten. You see, have you considered letting them be in a different environment?”

The implication was actually to expel Landon and Winston! Riley frowned but remained polite. “Did they cause any trouble at kindergarten? If so, I will definitely go back and educate them well. Rest assured, they will…”

Her word wasn’t finished when the principal interrupted abruptly, “The two kids have been doing well, but I don't want them to stay in our preschool. I will refund the previous tuition fees in full.”

Riley found it all very strange. “It's not about the money. Since both of my kids have been performing well, why are you expelling them? You have to give me a reason, or else I won't be able to explain this to the kids.”

The principal furrowed his brow. “There's no reason.”

As he said this, he felt quite guilty.

Those two kids were performing exceptionally well in the preschool, like two little adults compared to their peers, requiring no teacher's attention and even helping to take care of other children.

Logically, there was absolutely no reason to expel Landon and Winston from the preschool.

But it was the investors' demand, and the principal had to comply.

After speaking, the principal even hesitated to meet Riley's eyes.

Riley suppressed her anger, trying to stay calm and communicate with the principal, “I entrusted my children to you because I trusted you. But your current actions disappoint me. Unjustly expelling students, I can report this to the education bureau.”

The principal, feeling extremely guilty, still responded with a stiff tone, “Then go ahead and report. I won't change my mind!”

With the backing of the Sutton Family Group and the Wilder Corporation, the education bureau would only do a little for him.

Riley assessed him for a moment, her demeanor turning cold. “If this matter gets out, not to mention the punishment the preschool might face, will other parents, knowing you expelled two kids without reason, start to doubt you and transfer their children? By then, this preschool might not be able to operate.”

Hearing this, the principal grew uneasy and helplessly met her gaze. “Ms. Monroe, with your conditions, finding another preschool for the two kids shouldn't be difficult. Why make things difficult for me here?”

Riley harbored a hint of suspicion.

Judging by the principal's demeanor, someone must have instructed him behind the scenes, and that person's status definitely needed to be higher.

With this in mind, Riley softened her tone. “Alright, I won't make things difficult for you. But you have to tell me, who made you do this?”

The principal thought of Hollis's warning before leaving and fell silent.

“Was it the Wilder Corporation?” Riley could only think of this possibility. After hesitating for a moment, the principal nodded reluctantly.

After all, Hollis would eventually be the mistress of the Wilder family, so calling her a part of the Wilder Corporation wasn't wrong. Moreover, she kept mentioning Donovan, so it must have been Donovan's intention as well.

Seeing him nod, Riley's expression turned somewhat grim.

‘Donovan, what exactly is his intention?’ she thought.
