Chapter 246 The Best in the World

The car stopped in front of Riley's house.

Thinking about the kids, Riley forced a smile at Adam. "Thanks for the ride."

Adam nodded, watching her get out. "Think about what I said."

Riley paused, then nodded reluctantly.

After Adam drove off, Riley took a deep breath and opened the door.

She immediately heard the kids playing with Harper in the living room.

Just hearing their voices lifted Riley's spirits, and her smile became genuine.

"Mommy!"

Landon spotted her first and ran over to hug her leg.

Winston and Harper were still playing but stopped when they saw her.

Winston and Landon hugged her legs, and Riley patted their heads. "Been good?"

They nodded eagerly. "We've been very good!"

Harper pretended to be annoyed. "They drove me nuts, fighting over my phone."

The kids glared at Harper. "We wanted to call Mommy!"

Harper made a funny face at them.

She knew they wanted to call Riley but had heard the car and realized Riley had returned, so she playfully teased them.

Watching them bicker, Riley's eyes softened. "Just one night apart and you missed Mommy this much?"

They nodded vigorously. "We couldn't sleep without you!"

Harper pinched their cheeks. "Didn't I put you to bed?"

Landon, pinched in the face, grumbled, "Your voice isn't soothing. It kept us awake!"

Harper raised an eyebrow and laughed.

Riley laughed too, her earlier mood forgotten.

After some chatting and laughing, Riley smiled at Harper. "Thanks for these past two days. They've been a handful."

With Harper, even calm Landon got rowdy.

Harper rolled her eyes. "Why so polite? I'm their godmother. I'd love to raise them myself!"

She playfully flicked their foreheads, adding, "These two are definitely your sons, little smarties."

The kids clung to Harper's hand. "We'll take care of you too. You're the second best in the world!"

No need to ask who they thought was the best.

Riley's smile grew wider.

As it got dark, Riley suggested, "Let's go out for dinner. What do you want to eat?"

Winston raised his arm. "Mexican food!"

After a few dinners with Harper after they returned, the kids loved Mexican food.

Riley smiled and agreed, taking them out for dinner.
