Chapter 155 Catherine Had A Plan

Before the birthday party started, Riley gave Daniel one last treatment. His health had perked up a lot, enough for him to ditch the bed and move around at least, even if he couldn't stroll too far.

Riley made sure Daniel had his meds and gave him a gentle reminder. That marked the end of his treatment.

The much-anticipated birthday bash finally rolled around. After wrapping up at the research spot, Riley hightailed it home for a quick glam-up. She slipped into an elegant evening gown, fixed her hair in a chic updo, rocked some classy makeup, and then dashed off to the party.

When she hit up the Benedict fam estate, the shindig was just about to kick off. Swanky rides lined the outside, and inside, the joint was packed with big shots from H City. Riley had spent time in the city before, so she recognized a fair share of faces, even if not many clocked her.

Still, when Riley strutted in, all eyes were on her. The crowd was stunned at Riley's entrance.

Her long hair was artfully pinned up, showing off her graceful neck and pretty face. Her makeup was on point, highlighting her features, and she sported a slight smile on her soft pink lips. Her eyes shone like stars, and her toned legs peeked out from under her gown, giving off a chic yet alluring vibe.

Folks couldn't help but wonder which posh clan this classy lady hailed from.

Ignoring the curious glances, Riley knew better than to butt into convosations without an intro. After some thought, she decided to hang back in a corner for a bit.

Just as she took a couple of steps, Dalton piped up, "Hey, Dr. Monroe, you're stunning tonight."

And he was right. Back when she treated Daniel, she was usually in casual gear with no makeup. Today's look was a whole new level.

Riley paused, gave a nod, and thanked him with a polite smile.

"Since you're here, don't hide out. My grandpa's been waitin' for you," Dalton urged, spotting her low-key move.

With Dalton mentioning Daniel, Riley felt she had to go along. Amid the curious gazes, she changed course and headed to Daniel, exchanging hellos. Daniel warmly welcomed Riley and kept her by his side for a chat.

As guests observed Riley cozying up to the Benedict crew, their minds buzzed with theories.

In another part of town, Donovan was clocking out and gearing up for the party when his mom dialed in.

"Done with work? Swing by Opal Hair Studio. I'm gettin' dolled up," she said.

Checking the time, Donovan agreed.

Opal Hair Studio, run by the Brown family, had deep ties with the Wilders. They were top-notch in gown-making and tailoring, with skills passed down for generations. Their gear was pricy but a must-have for H City's elite.

The Browns were big shots in the fashion scene, with the younger crew also making waves. Whenever the Wilders needed to shine at events, they'd get their outfits tailored there. So, when Catherine mentioned she was at Opal Hair Studio, Donovan didn't think twice.

When Donovan showed up, the head honcho personally greeted him. Catherine was already done up at the moment and lounging when she spotted Donovan. Instead of getting up, she gestured lazily, "Take a seat and wait."

Donovan was puzzled. "Aren't you finished? We're runnin' late."

With a nod toward the inner room, Catherine coolly said, "Wait for Hollis."

Donovan's brow furrowed in confusion.

It was crystal clear to him that Catherine had a plan.
