Chapter 57 She Didn't Need Your Thanks

Upon hearing him mention their mom, the two children instantly became alert.

"Why are you looking for my mom!" Landon stared at the man nearby warily, like a small puppy ready to launch an attack.

Even though he had no attacking power, he still put on a fierce appearance.

Donovan noticed the hostility of the child and his cautious look, finding it strange and amusing. He didn't take it seriously and simply said, "Thanks to both of you for taking care of Finley twice. Anyway, I still need to thank you in person."

After listening, Landon felt slightly relieved, but his face remained tense. "No need, my mom was on the phone, and she doesn't need your thanks."

With that, he pulled Winston back onto the carpet and looked down at Finley, saying, "Since your dad is here to pick you up, you should go with him quickly. My mom needs to go out for work and doesn't have time to accompany you."

Finley was still immersed in the joy of the boys speaking up for her. Upon hearing this, she slowly came to her senses and, though reluctant, nodded understandingly when she heard that the beautiful aunt had to work.

Since that man brought up his mom, Landon had been wary and didn't want him to see her.

Now that Finley agreed to leave with that man, Landon quickly pulled Winston and crouched down to tidy up the LEGOs.

Donovan saw that Finley had agreed to go back with him and didn't urge them further, letting the three kids clean up.

After watching for a while, he felt something was strange.

The three children were squatting together, and they looked almost the same height.

Thinking again, the three kids were also in the same class in kindergarten.

In other words, they were close in age.

However, even if the woman had remarried immediately after giving birth to Finley and then became pregnant with these twins, Finley shouldn't be this close in age to them.

Could it be that boys grow faster?

However, Riley let the boys be in the same year as Finley. Could this be a coincidence?

Donovan was filled with doubts.

After a while, he couldn't find an answer and slowly took his gaze away from the three kids, boredom filling his mind as he looked around the environment.

Although it was just a temporary rental, Riley put some effort into decorating the villa.

At this moment, what caught Donovan's eye was a warm and tidy scene. Upon closer inspection, he could see several picture frames in many places.

Donovan's gaze was slowly drawn to those picture frames, and he walked over to them, carefully looking at each one.

After a while, his brows furrowed.

One after another, all of the photos only showed Riley with the two children.

Although the three of them were smiling warmly in the photos, Donovan couldn't help but feel that something was off.

In these photos, the father of the two children was nowhere to be seen.

Or perhaps, were these photos all taken by that man?

There were so many photos, but he never showed up, right?

Just as Donovan was puzzled, there came a hurried sound of footsteps from the stairs.

Donovan suddenly snapped back to reality, put down the photo frame he was holding, and casually walked over to the carpet.

On the stairs, Riley hurriedly ran down the stairs, her face full of panic.
