Chapter 199 Mr. Wilder's Woman
They talked it over for a while and decided to ask Catherine for help.
After all, Catherine was the biggest supporter of Hollis marrying into the Wilder family. Donovan might actually listen to her.
With that in mind, Alice arranged to meet with Catherine.
"Hollis is here too? Want anything to eat? It's on me today," Catherine said with a smile, not noticing anything off as she sat down across from them.
Hollis forced a smile. "Thanks, but I'm not really hungry."
After speaking, Hollis lowered her head sadly, resting her hands on her knees with her fingertips interlacing nervously.
Seeing this, Catherine asked, "What's wrong?"
Hollis just shook her head.
Catherine turned to Alice, confused.
Alice sighed, pulled out her phone, and opened a trending social media post. She handed it to Catherine. "Take a look."
Catherine took the phone, feeling uneasy. When she saw the post, she smiled. "They look great together. Donovan will definitely treat Hollis better after the wedding."
But seeing the looks on their faces, Catherine felt something was off.
She didn't realize the woman in the photo wasn't Hollis.
Alice, trying to stay calm, said, "But Hollis was home all day yesterday. She wasn't sick."
Catherine's smile faded.
If Hollis was home, then who was in the photo?
Staring at the screen, Catherine had a sinking feeling.
The woman in the photo looked a lot like Riley.
Alice forced a smile and asked, "Could it be a cousin of Donovan's? This is really hard to explain otherwise."
Hollis looked up, waiting for Catherine's answer.
Seeing her future daughter-in-law so upset and then looking at the photo of her son with another woman, Catherine felt guilty. She couldn't let Hollis know who the woman really was.
After a long pause, Catherine finally said, " The wedding's been announced, and now this comes out. It's our fault. Don't worry. I'll talk to Donovan. This won't happen again."
Hollis nodded hesitantly, her eyes dim.
Feeling too ashamed to stay, Catherine quickly said goodbye and left.
Hollis's expression darkened.
Back at the Sutton house, Hollis couldn't help but look at the post again.

Her phone lay on the floor, its screen shattered.
