Chapter 51 Finley Disappeared
The next day was the weekend, and the two children didn't have to go to kindergarten.
Riley planned to take them to the research institute.
Just as they were ready to go out, they suddenly heard the doorbell ring.
Riley thought it was Harper coming over and got up to open the door.
Seeing the person standing at the door, Riley's eyebrows furrowed, "Finley? What are you doing here?"
Upon saying this, she subconsciously looked around, thinking Donovan would be waiting in the distance.
To her surprise, after looking around, there was no one else at the door except Finley.
Riley shifted her gaze back and squatted down, looking into the little girl's eyes. "Tell Auntie, how did you come here? Did Daddy bring you?"
Based on Donovan's attitude towards her at the kindergarten yesterday, it was highly unlikely he would send Finley to find her.
However, that was the only possibility Riley could think of now.
Finley was wearing a white dress. She took out a book from her bag that she had at the kindergarten and wrote on it upon hearing Riley's question.
"I came by myself."
Riley exclaimed in surprise, "By yourself? How did you find your way here?"
Finley wrote on the book again, "I came by myself, took a taxi."
Riley still had some doubts. After confirming several times that there really was no one else around, she had no choice but to believe it.
Donovan's daughter had taken a taxi to her house early in the morning.
This situation really gave her a headache.
"Well, what can I help you with, Finley?" she suppressed her complex emotions and asked softly.
"I want to be friends with Landon and Winston and play with them. Can I?" Finley held up the book, looking at her with anticipation.
Just because of this? Riley didn't know how to react for a moment. Yesterday, their teacher in class did say that this little girl was very attached to her two kids. However, they didn't expect that this little girl would dare to take a taxi and come over to play with them. And, she couldn't even speak. Riley couldn't even imagine what would happen if she encountered bad people on the way.
"Mommy?" Landon and Winston had been waiting inside for a long time, but when Mommy didn't come in, they curiously came out to take a look.
Seeing the person at the door, the two children had the same reaction as Riley just now, "What are you doing here!"
Finley was about to write on her book, but Riley turned around and explained for her, "Finley wanted to come over and play with you."
After hearing this, Landon looked around in confusion, thinking that he would see Daddy, but there was not a single adult around.
"How did she come over?" Landon took his gaze back and asked Mommy to confirm.
Riley said helplessly, "She took a taxi by herself."
Even as she said it, she herself couldn't believe it.
The two children, however, didn't doubt it at all.
Winston, looking surprised, stared at Finley at the door, "You came by yourself? Did you run away from home again?"
If he remembered correctly, the first time they met, Finley ran away from home alone!
However, Finley didn't feel that her behavior was strange. She nodded at them.
Seeing her relaxed appearance, the two children exchanged glances and were speechless. How could the daughter that Daddy raised ran away from home so often? And why did she always run to their house?
At the same time, in the CEO's office of Wilder Corporation. Donovan was dealing with work when suddenly, his private phone rang. As soon as he answered, the urgent voice of the butler came through. "Mr. Wilder, Finley is missing again!"
