Chapter 226 Another Seminar
In a flash, everyone at the table turned to Riley with growing admiration, wishing they could claim her as their own student.
But after seeing her turn down even Zachary, no one else dared to speak up.
Zachary quickly shifted the conversation to other topics, yet inevitably circling back to medicine.
Thanks to Riley's stellar performance that afternoon, whenever Zachary posed a new question, the crowd looked to Riley first.
Riley felt like she was at another seminar.
Luckily, the serious vibe didn't last long. Zachary soon noticed and started talking about lighter stuff.
Being the younger ones in the group, Riley and Adam became the targets of some playful teasing.
When the seniors offered drinks, Riley couldn't refuse and accepted them one by one.
After a few drinks, seeing the seniors had no intention of stopping, she excused herself to the restroom to get some fresh air.
The restaurant's decor was mostly deep blue with occasional white accents, giving it a mysterious and elegant feel.
After wandering around the entrance for a bit, Riley felt the alcohol had mostly worn off. Not wanting to neglect the seniors, she decided to head back early.
"Isn't this Dr. Monroe?"
As soon as she turned around, she ran into a middle-aged man with a big belly, his white shirt stretched tight, looking like it might burst any second. His face was flushed from drinking too much.
Seeing Riley turn around, the man squinted and took a couple of steps forward, trying to observe her up close.
Riley frowned and stepped back, greeting him distantly, "Dr. Nelson, long time no see."
The man in front of her was a doctor from a hospital currently collaborating with her research institute. Riley had only met him a few times, remembering his last name as Nelson and nothing else.
Charles Nelson, realizing he had not mistaken her identity, became even more casual in his demeanor. He leered at Riley and remarked, "I thought you were pretty when I saw you at the institute before. Now seeing you without the lab coat, I realize you're not just pretty, but you have a great figure too."
As he spoke, Charles wobbled closer to Riley. "That face of yours, it seems to glow. Let me touch it..."
Seeing his fat hand reaching towards her, Riley felt a wave of disgust and immediately slapped it away. "Dr. Nelson, please behave yourself!"
Charles was slow to react. It took him a few seconds to realize he had been hit. He frowned and glared viciously at Riley. "You dare hit me?"
Riley didn't want to get entangled with him and tried to walk around him.
But Charles stepped in front of her. "Hit me and you want to leave? No way."
He then glanced at her slender waist, the anger in his eyes fading. "Sleep with me, and we'll call it even, okay?"
"If you come any closer, I'll call security!" Riley was cornered against the wall, shouting angrily.
Charles didn't care at all. He reached out to grab Riley's waist, his face full of greed. "Go ahead and call if you dare. It'll be fun to have an audience for our little show!"
Charles's body almost completely overshadowed Riley. Knowing she couldn't win in a direct confrontation, Riley racked her brain for a way to escape.
The smell of alcohol grew stronger.
Just as Riley was feeling desperate, a sudden wail sounded in her ear. The next moment, Charles was almost sent flying sideways away from her.
