Chapter 278 Hurry Up and Find Her

In the dense forest, only Riley's flashlight and a bit of moonlight lit the way.

Riley moved carefully, unsure of her location but knowing she hadn't found Finley yet.

Earlier, after taking the kids back, she checked her phone. None of the parents had seen Finley.

That left the forest.

No one had searched here yet.

If Finley was in here...

The more Riley thought about it, the more panicked she felt.

She was scared herself in the thick forest, let alone Finley, who was so young.

Finley wouldn't have come here if not for her.

Determined, Riley gritted her teeth and quickened her pace, feeling the urgency to find Finley.

"Finley! Where are you?"

She called out, hoping for a response.

But after shouting until her throat hurt, there was still silence.

Suddenly, the bushes rustled nearby.

Riley's eyes lit up, thinking it might be Finley, and she hurried over.

Just as she got close, something darted out of the bushes.

Riley almost screamed but saw it was just a wild rabbit and sighed in relief.

But thinking of Finley made her worry more, so she quickened her pace.

She didn't know where she was but heard faint crying.

Riley's heart tightened, thinking it might be Finley.

She slowed down and carefully approached the sound.

In a deep pit, Finley, covered in dirt, sat crouched on the ground, crying.

In the afternoon, she had run out of the hotel to find Riley and the boys. But a snake scared her, and she ran into the forest in a panic.

By the time she realized it, she was deep in the forest.

She tried to get out but couldn't find her way back. Instead, as she advanced, it got darker.

She stepped into a pit and fell.

Finley tried to climb out, but the sides were covered in slippery moss. She fell back down several times.

Realizing she might not get out, she waited, knowing her daddy and Riley would come looking for her.

But it got darker, and the pit became pitch black.

Something fell on her hand.

Finley silently screamed, curling up in the corner, tears streaming down her face.

After waiting all afternoon, she was hungry and scared, crying softly, afraid to attract anything.

She didn't know what time it was.

Finley hiccuped with tears, murmuring, "Daddy, Riley, Landon, Winston..."

She hoped someone would find her soon. She was so scared and promised never to run off again.

Thinking of Riley made her even sadder.

She wondered if Riley was looking for her. She missed Riley so much.
