Chapter 240 The Fiancée in the Room
Watching Riley walk away, Donovan's face tightened.
She had seemed fine this morning, so why leave now? And did she say his fiancée was in his room?
What was that about?
As the two of them vanished, Donovan told Paxton, "Get the next flight to H City."
Paxton nodded.
Donovan, looking stern, headed for the elevator.
He needed to see who this "fiancée" was.
Donovan's expression was distinctly frosty as he swung open the door. Upon stepping inside, he scanned the room impassively, only to find it devoid of any presence.
Just as he was about to ask Paxton to check, there was a knock.
Paxton hurried over to open the door, a look of slight unease on his face as he saw the person at the door. "Miss Sutton..."
Hollis peeked in. "Where's Donovan?"
She'd heard noise earlier and figured Donovan should be back.
Not seeing him, Hollis frowned and tried to enter.
Paxton blocked her. "Miss Sutton, this is Mr. Wilder's room. It's not convenient."
Hollis ignored him. "Donovan and I are getting married. What's the problem? Let me in!"
Paxton, not wanting to use force, couldn't stop her. She slipped in.
At the end of the hallway, she saw Donovan on the sofa.
Donovan, fresh from a meeting, sat in his suit, legs crossed, staring at her with cold eyes.
Hollis stopped, her arrogance fading. "Donovan, you're here..."
Donovan stared blankly at her.
So, this was the fiancée Riley mentioned. Riley must've left because of Hollis.
Thinking this, Donovan's expression grew colder. "This is my room. What do you want?"
Hollis stiffened, looking away. "I had work in North City and heard you were here, so I dropped by."
"Any Sutton Group projects in North City? I don't recall," Donovan said, exposing her lie.
The Sutton Group's projects often involved the Wilder Group, so Donovan knew their situation well.
Hollis's face changed. She pinched her palm and awkwardly said, "It's a new negotiation. Not sure if it'll go through. I came to try."
To avoid more questions, she quickly changed the subject. "Why are you in this hotel? Did the partners book it?"
The room's atmosphere seemed to chill.
Donovan glanced at her coldly. "None of your business. The less you ask, the better."
