Chapter 358 Do What You Think Is Best

Hollis shut her eyes, pretending to be asleep. After a bit, she caught Catherine's faint voice chatting with someone outside the ward.

"Find out what Riley's been up to since she got back," Catherine ordered.

The person on the other end must've found the info and reported back.

"Got it," Catherine said, her tone icy. "Tell all the drug suppliers in H City that if they supply Riley, they're going against the Wilder Group!"

The person agreed quickly. Catherine's footsteps got louder as she walked back in. Hollis quickly arranged her face to look like she was in deep sleep.

Catherine stood by the bed, staring at Hollis's tired face with a mix of regret and guilt. Riley should've stayed gone after leaving six years ago. This time, Catherine was determined to get rid of her for good. Hollis was such a good woman; she wouldn't let Donovan let her down.

Feeling uneasy under Catherine's gaze, Hollis furrowed her brows and pretended to wake up. Seeing Catherine, she acted surprised. "Mrs. Wilder, what time is it? Why haven't you gone home yet?" She nailed the groggy voice of someone who just woke up.

Catherine smiled casually. "It's nothing. I'm here to keep you company."

Hollis frowned. "You should go home. You won't rest well here, and if you feel unwell tomorrow, I'll feel really guilty."

Catherine reluctantly agreed.

"I'll walk you out," Hollis said, trying to get up.

Catherine quickly made her lie back down and said gently, "You rest up. I'll head back myself; the driver's still waiting downstairs."

Hollis nodded obediently. "Be careful on your way."

Catherine agreed and reminded her, "The caregiver Donovan arranged will come tomorrow. If you need anything, call me anytime."

Seeing Hollis agree, Catherine finally felt at ease and left the ward, turning off the light on her way out.

In the darkness, Hollis heard the door close and let out a cold laugh. She thought, 'So what if Donovan and Finley don't like me? So what if they prefer that bitch Riley? If Catherine's plan works, they'll have no choice but to pick me.'

Riley had stolen Donovan from her once six years ago; she wouldn't let it happen again. Riley needed to go back to wherever she came from. There could only be one woman by Donovan's side, and that was her.

Meanwhile, Riley had no clue about their schemes. Telling Finley she was moving abroad had been a spur-of-the-moment excuse to calm Finley down.

But thinking it over, Riley realized moving abroad might actually be a good escape from the Wilder Family and Hollis. She could go back to her peaceful life, the one she had before all this drama.

However, the decision was a bit rushed, and there was still a lot to prepare. She needed to discuss it thoroughly with Chandler.

Late at night, Riley sent Chandler a message, sharing her thoughts. It was daytime on Chandler's end, and he replied quickly.

Chandler: [Do what you think is best, but if you want to come back, you'll need to sort out the matters at the research institute.]

Riley felt a wave of relief and smiled. After hashing out the details with Chandler, it was nearly dawn. She then made a simple plan for her next steps before finally drifting off to sleep.
