Chapter 387 Dr. Monroe is Going Abroad
"Alright, now that you know, what's your plan?" Dalton asked, hesitating a bit, his eyes full of curiosity as he looked at Donovan.
He could see Donovan had feelings for Riley, no doubt about it. But would he go against Catherine for her? That was the big question.
Donovan frowned, feeling a wave of irritation. After a long pause, he finally said, "I'll handle the Wilder Group. Can you help with Riley?"
Dalton was even more puzzled. What did Donovan mean? Was he going against Catherine or not?
Donovan, noticing the silence, added with a frown, "If it's too much, forget it. I'll deal with it myself. I can't openly defy my mom right now."
Knowing Catherine, the more he opposed her for Riley, the more she'd dislike and target Riley. Plus, she was still his mom. He had to consider her position.
Dalton, catching on, thought for a moment and said, "I can help. My company is the only one working with Dr. Monroe right now. I can try to secure their supply of herbs for now, but it won't last. Dr. Monroe needs more suppliers. With the Benedict Group's influence in H City, convincing a few suppliers shouldn't be hard, but..."
Dalton paused, giving Donovan a meaningful look.
Donovan frowned, "What is it?"
Dalton whispered, "If you give the go-ahead, it'll be much easier. I'll only approach reputable suppliers, and your mom won't hear a thing."
Donovan nodded, "Alright, I'll leave it to you. Also, try to keep her in the country."
He knew Riley well. With such a big issue at the research institute, she wouldn't just leave and go abroad. Since Dalton was willing to help, Riley would definitely cooperate.
Dalton blurted out, "No problem!"
After agreeing, Dalton realized what Donovan had just said. Shocked, he furrowed his brows and asked, "Wait, what do you mean? Dr. Monroe is going abroad? She's not planning to stay?"
Donovan nodded.
Dalton was incredulous. "How do you know? Haven't you two been out of touch? You didn't even know about the trouble at the research institute. What if it's just a misunderstanding? Dr. Monroe hasn't been back for long."
Riley had been abroad for six years. Now that she was back and leading the Virus Research Institute, she'd put so much effort into it. How could she leave so easily?
Donovan smirked sarcastically, "It's true, not a misunderstanding. She told Finley." He was just as shocked when he heard the news. But it was the truth.
"And you..." Dalton hesitated, looking at Donovan. If Riley went abroad, what would Donovan do?
Donovan's eyes darkened as he glanced at him, "That's why I'm asking you to keep her in the country as much as possible."
Dalton suddenly realized, breathed a sigh of relief, and teased with a smile, "I knew it, you wouldn't let her go so easily."
