Chapter 16 Frequently Thinking of Her
Donovan furrowed his brows, feeling annoyed.
Did he mistake it again?
Once or twice was fine, but for two consecutive days, he saw that figure in different places.
However, that figure would only appear for a brief moment before disappearing completely.
Donovan couldn't help but let out a cold huh, withdrawing his gaze.
He must be going crazy to think of that woman again!
"Mr. Wilder, the client has been waiting for a long time. Are we not going in?" Paxton waited for a while and when Mr. Wilder didn't make any movements, he cautiously asked.
Donovan closed his eyes, composed himself, and calmly said, "Let's go."
After finishing his statement, Paxton followed quickly behind.
Upon entering the room, Riley and Deacon found that the staff of the institute had already gathered.
Deacon gestured for Riley to sit while he took a seat beside her. He then introduced her to everyone, saying, "You have all seen Dr. Monroe during the day, but now I would like to formally introduce her to everyone."
All eyes turned towards Riley, who nodded calmly as a greeting.
"This is Riley, Dr. Monroe. You may not be familiar with the name, but overseas, she is known as Chandler's favorite student, Riley Monroe."
Upon hearing this name, everyone began to show respect in their eyes.
Riley Monroe, a name that those in the medical field had all heard of.
After all, being so young and already having impressive medical skills, it was said that she had learned 80% of Professor Chandler's expertise. She was a role model for young people!
They had always imagined Riley to have short hair, wear glasses, and have a serious and studious appearance.
They never expected that she would be so beautiful in person!
Realizing this, admirers immediately stepped forward.
"Is it really Riley? I admire you so much! I have read every paper you published overseas. I really like you!"
"It is our honor to work with Riley!"
Everyone praised and complimented her, their faces full of sincerity.
After exchanging glances with everyone, Riley's lips curled into a slight smile. "Thank you all for the praise. I hope we can have a pleasant collaboration in the future."
Finishing her statement, she raised her glass.
Everyone raised their glasses and finished their drinks.
Riley appeared friendly, earning even more admiration from the staff.
The dinner proceeded happily.
Many people came over to greet Riley, and she responded to each one.
Although she had a good tolerance for alcohol, with the number of people that came, she started to feel a bit tipsy.
Seeing that the meal was about to end, Riley excused herself to go to the restroom and stood up to wash her face, hoping to sober up.
Upon leaving the restroom and walking back to the private room, her phone suddenly vibrated.
Riley opened it and saw that it was a message from her two little darlings at home, asking when she would return.
Upon seeing the message, a warm smile appeared on Riley's face, and she was about to stop and reply to them.
Suddenly, her shoulder was bumped hard by someone, causing her phone to nearly fly out of her hand.
Riley tightly gripped her phone and immediately apologized to the person, "I'm sorry."
Before she could finish her apology, the man angrily said, "Are you blind? Damn it, it's so late at night. What bad luck!"
As he spoke, a strong smell of alcohol wafted from him.
Riley frowned and stepped back, keeping a distance.
The drunken man's voice halted when he saw her face, stunned into silence and unable to close his mouth, his eyes fixed on her.
