Chapter 265 She Won't Let Her Hold Her

As they chatted, they had already planted the second tree.

Riley stood up, grabbed the third sapling, and secured it in the hole.

Suddenly, there was a commotion nearby.

"Miss Sutton, what brings you here?" Zoey, wandering among the kids, was surprised to see someone approaching as she reached the entrance.

Hollis, in a red dress with wavy hair and sunglasses, looked very elegant.

Approaching Zoey, she took off her sunglasses and scanned the crowd. "Donovan mentioned a parent-child activity at the kindergarten today. I was worried about Finley, so I came. Where are they?"

Zoey pointed towards Riley. "Over there with Landon and Winston. Finley loves playing with them and doesn't want to leave, even when planting trees."

Hollis's eyes turned colder. She thanked Zoey curtly and walked briskly towards Riley.

Everyone was in sportswear for the tree-planting event, except Hollis in her brick-red dress, making her stand out. All eyes were on her.

Some recognized her and glanced at Riley, expecting drama.

Riley noticed the red dress approaching, her expression tense.

Last night, when Hollis called, Riley knew she wouldn't let this go easily, but she didn't expect that Hollis would actually make a special trip to come here.

"Donovan, there you are," Hollis greeted sweetly as she approached.

She then looked down at Riley. "Ms. Monroe, long time no see."

The atmosphere was tense.

The crowd watched with various expressions.

Riley nodded distantly. "Long time no see."

"What are you doing here?" Donovan frowned at Hollis, clearly displeased.

Hollis remained unfazed and used Catherine as an excuse. "Catherine said you brought Finley to the activity. She was worried Finley wouldn't handle it well and thought it might be inconvenient for you to take care of her, so she sent me."

Mentioning Catherine made Donovan frown deeper.

His engagement with Hollis had dragged on only because his mother insisted. Otherwise, it would have ended long ago.

Hollis, ignoring his anger, squatted down to Finley, who was with Landon and Winston, and opened her arms. "Finley, come here and let me hold you."

Finley pouted and hid behind the boys.

She didn't like Hollis at all. Hollis had even hit her. She wouldn't let her hold her!

Seeing Finley's resistance, Hollis's eyes darkened, but her smile grew more genuine. She looked at Finley apologetically. "Finley, are you still mad at me for last time? I know I was wrong. I was impulsive. I apologize. Will you forgive me?"

Finley pursed her lips and shook her head silently, not willing to budge.

Being repeatedly rejected by Finley, a trace of coldness flashed in Hollis's eyes.

This ungrateful little brat, if it weren't for all these people around, she'd definitely teach her a lesson!
