Chapter 301 Going to Riley's House

At the kindergarten, Finley showed up early, excited to see Riley and the boys. They'd told her Riley would be picking them up from now on, but last night, another woman showed up instead.

Initially disappointed, Finley felt better when the woman passed on a message from Riley, reassuring her that Riley still cared. So, she was even more excited to see Riley this morning.

But as all the kids arrived, there was still no sign of Riley, Landon, or Winston. Finley started feeling down.

"Finley, class is about to start. Let's go in!" Zoey called out, noticing Finley was waiting for someone. Finley just shook her head stubbornly.

"Why?" Zoey asked, puzzled.

After the incident where Finley got lost in the mountains, Zoey felt guilty and was extra careful with her.

Finley kept staring into the distance, hoping to see Riley's car or at least Landon and Winston. But even when the class bell rang, they still hadn't shown up.

Zoey tried to convince Finley to go inside but eventually gave in and stood with her at the gate, asking other teachers to watch her class.

Finley's sense of security was low after the disappearance incident. Seeing Riley, Landon, and Winston still absent, her eyes welled up with tears. 'Does Riley not want me anymore? Did she transfer Landon and Winston to another school without telling me?' she wondered, remembering when they almost switched schools.

Seeing Finley about to cry, Zoey squatted down to comfort her. "Finley, what's wrong? Can you tell me? Maybe I can help."

Finley pouted and wrote Landon and Winston's names in a small notebook.

Zoey realized Finley was asking about Landon and Winston. She explained, "Landon and Winston are at home taking care of their mommy. She has a fever, and they asked for a day off."

Patting Finley's head, she added, "They'll be here tomorrow. Let's go inside, okay?"

Hearing Riley was unwell, Finley looked worried. When Zoey reached for her hand, Finley shook her head and stepped back.

Zoey was about to ask what was wrong when Finley suddenly ran off. "Finley!" she called, chasing after her.

Finley jumped into the Wilder family's car, where the driver was waiting. After her previous disappearance, Donovan had arranged for a driver to ensure she didn't go off on her own again.

The driver saw Finley get in, with Zoey chasing after her, and was confused. Then he heard Finley's little voice, "To Riley's house!"

The driver was stunned but smiled and agreed, ignoring Zoey, and drove away from the kindergarten gate.
