Chapter 88 Being with Another Woman
After the treatment, Mia also returned home.
Knowing from the butler that they were treating her grandfather, she went straight upstairs to Mr. Benedict Senior's room.
"Grandpa, how are you now?" As soon as she entered, Mia asked with concern.
Mr. Benedict Senior nodded slightly. "Much better."
Having lived for so long, Mr. Benedict Senior also had some understanding of conventional treatment methods and had seen countless famous doctors.
But this Dr. Monroe genuinely surprised him.
After each treatment, Mr. Benedict Senior could clearly feel the improvement in his body.
Such ability, even those famous doctors might not necessarily possess.
Mia approached to confirm, then smiled and nodded. "That's good."
After Mia finished speaking, she turned to Hollis and asked, "Are you also here to see Grandpa? It's getting late, now. How about staying for dinner together?"
Hollis naturally wouldn't refuse, smiling at Mr. Benedict Senior. "Grandpa Benedict, I'll stay and eat with you."
Mr. Benedict Senior nodded with a smile.
Riley, seeing Mia return, hastened her tidying up, not wanting to get too involved with them.
Mr. Benedict Senior, however, smiled and looked over. "Dr. Monroe, why don't you stay as well? It's a good opportunity for me to thank you."
At these words, Riley hesitated slightly, thinking about how to refuse, but Mr. Benedict Senior's voice rang out again. "Call Donovan over, too. Let's all gather together, have a lively meal, and consider it a celebration of my improved health. It's been a while since I've had such a lively time."
Hearing Mr. Benedict Senior's words, Dalton immediately agreed and went out to call Donovan.
Riley, on the other hand, felt a slight pain her heart. She quickly packed her things into the medical kit, and immediately excused herself. "Since it's a family banquet, it's not quite appropriate for me to stay. If Mr. Benedict Senior really wants to thank me, let's do it another day."
Although Riley had met Donovan many times after returning to the country and knew about Donovan's relationship with Hollis, she really didn't want to see Donovan and Hollis together in front of her.
Just the thought of Donovan sitting with Hollis made her feel uncomfortable.
Therefore, Riley's departure seemed hasty.
Seeing Riley clearly unwilling to stay longer, Mia guessed in her mind and then hypocritically smiled. "You are indeed Grandpa’s lifesaver. It's not only a family banquet, but also a token of Grandpa's gratitude. If you have nothing else to do later, please stay and eat together."
Riley furrowed her brows slightly, sensing Mia's insincerity.
Dalton came back after making the call and happened to hear Mia's words. Thinking that Mia was genuinely inviting the guest, he echoed, "Donovan will come over later. You've met him before. He's also concerned about Grandpa Benedict's recovery. If you stay here, there will be someone explaining things to him later."
Upon hearing that, Riley couldn't find words to refuse and could only nod in agreement.
Seeing Riley actually dare to stay, Mia stepped forward and affectionately hooked her arms with Hollis, her gaze toward Riley filled with irony.
As Mia heard that Mr. Benedict Senior wanted Donovan to come over, she wanted to make Riley feel awkward in front of Donovan, so she invited Riley to stay.
Given Riley's relationship with Donovan and seeing Donovan with Hollis now, it was uncertain what her reaction will be.
Mia was actually looking forward to it.
