Chapter 46 Feeling Sorry for the Little Girl

Riley nodded, leading the two children over and greeting the teacher.

Just as they were about to leave, her gaze fell on the little girl again.

Seeing that the three of them seemed to be leaving, Finley anxiously stood up from the slide, staring straight at them.

The teacher beside her reached out to support her for fear of her falling.

"What's wrong with her?"

Riley hesitated for a moment, but couldn't help but ask.

The two children already guessed what she wanted to ask and rushed to answer, "Mommy, she also goes to school here, and she's in the same class as us! Her parents haven't come to pick her up today, so she's waiting here with us!"

Riley nodded understandingly, glanced at the little girl in front of her, feeling a softness in her heart, but she didn't intend to stay.

After all, the one coming to pick her up later might be Donovan or Hollis.

She didn't want to see either of them again.

However, the little girl clearly didn't want her to leave just like that.

Riley didn't want to disappoint her, so she gently touched her head with a smile and said, "Your parents should be here soon. Auntie has to leave first. You have to be good and listen to the teacher, okay?"

Just as Riley was about to leave after saying that, the little girl grabbed onto her clothes tightly.

Riley couldn't help but stop and lowered her eyes to take a look.

The little girl shook her head, and her eyes were starting to well up with tears.

Seeing the little girl's appearance, Riley felt a inexplicable pang of heartache and couldn't move her feet.

Beside them, the teacher sighed helplessly when she saw that Finley insisted on not letting Riley leave. She approached Riley and said, "Finley has been getting close to Landon and Winston recently. She tends to be autistic, and there are no other kids in school who are willing to play with her. Landon and Winston protected her on their first day in class, and because of that, she has been relying on them. Now that she sees them leaving, she's feeling scared."

Hearing about the little girl's situation, Riley felt even more uncomfortable deep inside.

She didn't expect this little girl to be not only mute but also autistic.

No wonder the teacher asked her two kids to wait by her side.

However.

Riley hesitated at the thought of the two people who would appear soon.

The teacher quietly tried to persuade Riley for a while, but Finley refused to let go of her.

After a while, the teacher reluctantly asked Riley, "Landon's mom, are you in a hurry? If not, could we talk? I haven't had a chance to tell you about Landon and Winston since they joined the class."

Riley could tell that the teacher just wanted to use the names of Landon and Winston to make her stay and accompany the little girl.

The little girl also looked at her eagerly.

Meeting the little girl's gaze, Riley wanted to refuse, and those words were on the tip of her tongue. However, for some reason, she ended up nodding to the teacher.

Seeing her agreement, Finley's eyes became bright again. She held onto Riley's clothes and cautiously leaned closer to her.

From a distance, it looked like she was leaning against Riley's embrace.

Not stopping her little movements, Riley didn't show any care, and just casually chatted with the teacher about the situation of her two kids.
