Chapter 83 Not Wanting Them to Recognize Each Other

Seeing Sophie readily agree, Riley felt relieved.
Riley had been thinking about where to find a suitable nanny, never expecting it to be so easy.
"Please come over tomorrow morning. I'll draft the contract for you to take a look tomorrow and if it's okay, you can sign it."
After briefly confirming the salary Riley proposed, Sophie nodded in agreement, exchanged a few words with them, and then left with her tools.
In the living room, only a few of them remained.
After chatting with Sophie for a bit, Riley's mood calmed down, while in the presence of Donovan, she became distant again. "I appreciate your help tonight, for tending to my wound and finding a housekeeper for me. Consider it a favor owed."
Seeing Riley's indifferent attitude, an unusual emotion flashed in Donovan's eyes but was quickly suppressed. He calmly responded, "No need. If anything, it was Finley and me who troubled you first. It's my way of repaying you."
On the side, Finley understood her father's words, vigorously nodded, and then ran over to grab Riley's injured finger, staring at it for a while.
Riley smiled and patted her head. "It's all fine now. It doesn't hurt at all. No need to worry."
Finley blinked her eyes, cautiously touched his finger as if confirming that everything was indeed okay, then looked up with a sweet smile.
Witnessing this, Riley's heart softened.
"It's getting late. We won't disturb you any longer." Donovan untimely interjected, lowering his gaze to Finley, "Finley, say goodbye to Auntie Riley and your brothers."
Finley was a bit reluctant to leave, but knowing she would see the brothers again tomorrow, she obediently waved to them.
Landon and Winston also smiled and waved at Finley. "See you at kindergarten tomorrow!"
Hearing this, Finley nodded vigorously.
Donovan held Finley's hand, bid a brief farewell to the three, then turned and left.
Riley watched his car drive away, finally completely relaxed.
Landon and Winston, however, seemed somewhat reluctant, their gaze lingering in the distance without turning back.
Riley thought they were just unwilling to leave Finley, and said gently, "Let's go back. You'll see your little sister at kindergarten tomorrow."
Landon and Winston then slowly retracted their gaze and followed Riley back to the villa.
Closing the door, Riley's expression slightly hardened. She squatted down, looking seriously into Landon and Winston's eyes. "Mommy wants to discuss something with you."
Seeing Riley's serious expression, Landon and Winston looked puzzled. "If Finley's dad ever asks how old you are, you should say you're a year younger than Finley, okay?" Riley softly negotiated with Landon and Winston.
Upon hearing this, Landon and Winston immediately understood but still pretended to be naive and asked, "Why?"
Riley hesitated for a moment, unable to come up with a good excuse, and sighed helplessly. "There's no reason. Just do as Mommy says, okay?"
Landon and Winston glanced at each other and nodded slowly.
Landon showed no signs of suspicion, but Winston appeared a bit puzzled.
Making Landon and Winston tell their dad that they are a year younger than Finley was clearly to have them falsify their ages so their dad couldn't possibly guess their true identities.
'What exactly happened between Mommy and Daddy? It seemed that Daddy is kind to Mommy. But why is Mommy so stubborn that she doesn't want us to acknowledge him?' Winston thought.
