Chapter 48 The Two Get into a Fight
Donovan didn't notice the two kids in the car, knowing he was late, he walked quickly inside the kindergarten.
Just as he walked in, he saw the two people standing by the slide and Finley almost hiding in Riley's arms.
"Finley's daddy, you're here!"
The teacher immediately noticed the person and respectfully greeted him.
Donovan nodded slightly, walked up to the three of them, glanced at his own daughter, and then looked coldly at Riley, "Why are you here?"
Noticing the hostility in the man, Riley furrowed her brows inexplicably.
Beside them, the teacher looked at them in surprise, "Do you know each other?"
She had just thought that Riley didn't know Finley.
But considering Finley's dependence on Riley, it wasn't hard to imagine that they knew each other.
Riley nodded to the teacher, then met the man's gaze, "I came to pick up my child from school, but your daughter was pulling on my clothes and wouldn't let go, so I had to stay here with her."
Hearing the words "your daughter" coming from her mouth, Donovan's face darkened.
This woman, saying such things in front of her own daughter, she's so heartless!
Riley didn't know what she said wrong, she only saw the man suddenly turn his serious gaze towards the little girl beside her.
"Come here."
Donovan reached out with a stern face towards Finley.
Finley looked at her daddy's outstretched hand, then glanced at the pretty lady next to her, her eyes filled with reluctance and a bit of grievance.
She finally had the chance to be with the pretty lady, but why was daddy so mean?
As the seconds ticked by, Finley still hadn't let go, and Donovan's expression grew even darker.
Riley finally lowered her eyes, bent down to touch the little girl's head, and comforted her, "Your daddy came to pick you up, go back with him, Auntie also has to leave."
After speaking, she stood up straight, wanting to leave as soon as Finley let go.
But Finley still didn't release her hand, regardless of Donovan's dark expression, and just stared intently at Riley.
She didn't know why, but she really liked this aunt, and even wanted to go home with this beautiful aunt.
The atmosphere was somewhat tense.
The teacher was about to say something to break the deadlock when she saw Donovan, who had been silent, suddenly moved.
"Finley Wilder, let go and go back with Dad."
Donovan walked up to Finley with long strides and spoke to her in a stern tone that he had never used before.
Finley was scared by his tone, she tightened her grip on Riley's hand and instinctively moved closer to Riley.
She was already standing on the edge of the slide and hadn't looked down, almost falling off the stairs.
Riley's heart skipped a beat, and she quickly reached out and barely managed to stabilize the little girl's body.
The little girl refused to let go of her, so she had to hold her to prevent her from falling again.
After finally settling the little girl, Riley couldn't help but frown, "Donovan, if you have any dissatisfaction with me, you can come at me instead of taking it out on a child."
Donovan also saw the scene but didn't have time to go over.
Hearing these words, he responded with the same unfriendly tone, "What does it have to do with Ms. Monroe how I treat my daughter? Do you think that just because my daughter is closer to you, you have the right to interfere?"
The atmosphere between them became tense.
Hearing his mocking tone, Riley's face turned cold and she felt inexplicably angry.
