Chapter 222 I Apologize for My Earlier Offense
In the afternoon, the seminar kicked off.
Riley and Adam showed up almost half an hour early.
As people started trickling in, Riley felt a bit uneasy.
Just like Adam had said, the attendees were big names in the medical field. She hadn't met them before, but she recognized their faces from various medical journals.
Adam took her around to introduce her to everyone.
"Is this Janet?" An older man, upon hearing her name, looked a bit skeptical. "So young?"
Janet had always been a bit of a mystery internationally. People knew she was Chandler's student but hadn't expected her to be so young.
Seeing Riley, they couldn't help but doubt her.
Riley noticed his suspicion. She was used to such looks and smiled politely, greeting him.
Adam smiled and introduced her, "Despite her youth, there are aspects where I simply cannot match up to her."
Hearing this, the elder's doubt deepened. He gave them a strange look before smiling knowingly. "Since you brought her, we trust you. If you say so, then it must be true!"
It was clear what he was thinking.
Adam frowned and was about to say more, but Riley stopped him. "Everyone here is a distinguished figure in the medical field. I believe they'll judge based on academic merit. Whether I am truly Janet, or whether Janet's reputation is justified, everyone will form their own opinions after this seminar."
Since they doubted her, Riley decided to prove herself at the seminar.
Hearing this, Adam froze for a moment, then smiled and nodded. "Fair enough, I was underthinking it."
They returned to their seats.
Soon, the seminar officially began.
First, a leading figure in the domestic field presented a topic, and then everyone spoke in turn according to their seating order.
When it was Riley's turn, everyone looked over.
She rose graciously and smiled at the crowd before delivering her point in a well-organized manner.
As she finished, the audience's initial doubts turned into appreciation.
Riley remained composed. After presenting her views, she bowed and sat down.
The next second, the seminar was filled with thunderous applause.
Not far away, the leading figure who had presented the topic gave her an appreciative look.
Riley politely nodded in return.
After the seminar ended, just as Riley had said, everyone looked at her with new respect, and the initial doubts vanished.
Riley also gained a lot.
Although these authoritative figures seemed somewhat arrogant, their knowledge was solid. Some of their viewpoints were unique, making Riley ponder deeply.
"Ms. Monroe, I apologize for my earlier offense."
Just as Riley was about to leave, the leading figure, surrounded by a group of people, walked over.
Riley stood up and took a few steps forward to greet him politely. "Mr. Powell, you flatter me. Given my young age, it's normal for the elders to have doubts about me."
Zachary Powell looked at her with even more appreciation. "I've long heard of Janet's reputation. It's rare to see you. You must attend the dinner tonight. It's a great fortune for the domestic medical field to have a new rising star."
Receiving such high praise from Zachary, Riley felt flattered. She agreed with a smile.
