Chapter 425 Why Are You with Mommy?
It seemed like they heard the ruckus outside. Almost as soon as the car stopped, the villa door swung open, and Landon and Winston dragged Harper out.
Seeing the somewhat familiar car parked in the yard, they all looked puzzled.
Inside the car, Riley saw them looking over and felt a headache coming on.
Just as she was debating how to explain everything once she got out, Donovan suddenly opened the car door.
Riley snapped back to reality and turned to open the door herself, but he had already walked around to her side.
"We're here," Donovan said, extending his hand to her, like he was reminding her of her situation.
Riley gritted her teeth, wanting to get out from the other side.
Donovan's low voice sounded in her ear again, "Ms. Monroe probably doesn't want the kids to see you fall, right?"
Hearing this, Riley froze.
She didn't want the kids to see her with Donovan, nor did she want them to see her in a bad state.
After hesitating for a bit, Riley finally reached out to support Donovan's arm.
With Donovan's help, she slowly got out of the car.
When Landon and Winston saw Donovan getting out of the car, they suddenly realized it was his car.
But, why were they together now?
Thinking this, they looked at Donovan with full alertness.
Seeing Riley being helped out of the car by him, they became even more worried. They let go of Harper's hand and quickly ran to Riley's side, following closely and looking up at her with concern. "Mommy, what's wrong with you?"
Seeing the worried looks on their faces, Riley forced a smile and reassured them, "Mommy is a bit airsick, I'll be fine after some rest."
Harper also came over, suspiciously glancing at Donovan beside her, then looking at her with concern. "How did it get so serious?"
Riley shook her head and slowly stopped walking.
Donovan noticed her intention and also stopped.
"Thank you, Mr. Wilder, for bringing me back." Riley gave Donovan a distant smile and then extended a hand to Harper. "Harper, help me."
Hearing this, Harper quickly reached out to support her.
Donovan, however, frowned and didn't let go.
Landon and Winston had already squeezed in front of him, reaching out to hold Riley's hand.
Seeing the two in front of him and thinking of Riley's whispers on the plane, Donovan frowned but eventually let go.
Landon had Winston hold Riley's hand, then turned to face Donovan, his little face tense as he asked, "What's wrong with my Mommy? Why are you with her?"
Seeing Landon act like a protective little wolf, Donovan found it amusing but couldn't ignore his vigilance, as the kids were always wary of him.
Donovan's lips curled in an ambiguous smile as he patiently explained to Landon, "I happened to be on the same flight as your Mommy. After we got off, I saw she wasn't feeling well, so I brought her back."
Landon stared at him suspiciously for a long time but couldn't see anything unusual, so he had to accept that what Donovan said was true.
